I want to get a new DAC to go with my Topping A30 Pro and my speaker system.
I‘m mainly considering the SMSL SU-9n (about 400€, not on amazon yet), the Topping D30 Pro (350€ prime shipped), or maybe the Topping E50 (270€).
Is it worth it to spend the extra 50€ on the SMSL? How does the E50 compare to the other DACs?
I am one of the “all DACs are fine” fraction.
So I would say get the E50…
Of course the D30 design and size would match better with the A30pro.
The SU-9n has the sound color modes but I couldn’t hear any difference back then on my SU-8.
The A30pro has the same power specs over RCA In and a even better SNR + Crosstalk. So in theory you could ditch the balanced and go with an even cheaper DAC like the E30.
Many different reviewers said that the Topping has more of a relaxing sound with more spacious sound stage and non fatuiguing highs while the smsl has more bass slam.
I‘m not sure if I can hear these differences tho.
