Asking for a friend. He wants to start making EDM. Currently has M40x, makes Punk music, but wants to make EDM. Budget is $200, and it needs to be easy to drive off a laptop. Closed is preferred, but open back is also okay.
DT880 600 ohm was suggested, but that is too hard to drive. AKG K371 is supposedly too bass heavy, but he said he liked the bass on the M50x (Oh nooooo! XD).
Any suggestions? Thanks!
EDIT: If you think his M40x are fine, then he said he would rather not have to get anything else actually.
I personally think that until he wants to upgrade to a 880 with an amp, the 40x would be pretty good to just stick with
