Best tube amp for planars under 200$

Perfect. Well that’s great that you have figured out what you like and what to look for. Now you have to deal with the back and forth decisions of what to get lol

Got my P20 today. Haven’t A/B’d with atom yet because my house is too loud.

Delivery was weird. It showed up in the product box with no other packaging, and it wasn’t sealed! It’s working just fine and the power cables and documents were packaged neatly.

I have a 1+ and I wouldn’t say that it adds anything worthwhile to the planars I’ve tested it with.

You must tube swap this. The stock tubes sound 5/10. Get yourself some GE JAN at minimum or even better, some russian tubes… which I’ll have to find a link for.

When you find that link, I’ll check it out! Thanks

You’re looking for russian tube 6n3p-DR

Hmm. Apparently the MK1 was “hybrid”, the MK2 isn’t.
But the MK2 has a pre-amp out. And apparently, it’s not a “passthrough” ? It, ehh, pre-amps the tubiness?

-So with the pre-amp RCA out I’ll be able to “tube” (active) speakers?
-And if I already have a JDS Labs Atom, and I use the pre-amp out, as a bonus, I will be able to “tube” any headphones?

If your talking about the little dot mk2, it is an otl amp. The preamp out runs it though the tubes I believe

Hello guys brought a Hifiman HE400i 2020

Planning for a tube amp for that warm signature ,any tube amp you could suggest and if you guys tried Xduoo mt602 post that too,it would be a great help

Budget -200

Xduoo ta05
Little dot mk2
Xduoo mt02

As for as my research above one I chose

I’m don’t have any other DAC or AMP

Eliminate the LD MK2.
You need a hybrid. I believe the MK1 and perhaps the MK3 SE are hybrids though?

I have MT-602, it’s a great little amp. It isn’t the “warmest” or “tubeiest” thing.
The little Bravo amps stock are a lot warmer/darker imo.
The MT-602 is a better amp though, and I am going to tube roll it.

I’d recommend the MT-602 at $99 and get yourself a solid budget DAC as well.

Great I’ll look to it ,if you can put up which tube sounds warmest on your tube rolling with mt602

The idea of using a tube amp as a pre/buffer to a solid state amp just changed my whole outlook.
Learning so much since joining the forum.
