I researched the best wireless gaming headsets to find one that offers a great balance of audio quality, comfort and battery life for my gaming setup. After reading expert reviews from the trust sources like rtings,pc gamer and customer feedback on amazon, two models really stood out to me as top contenders.
The 2.4ghz wireless gaming headset for pc, ps5 and pS4. This headset offers lossless audio over a stable usb and type c wireless connection. It has a flip to mute microphone, a massive 40 hour battery life and is compatible with everything from gaming consoles to laptops and mobile devices. It looks like a solid choice for long gaming sessions and cross platform use.
Corsair void headset features 7.1 surround sound for immersive gameplay, and it is discord certified, which is a plus for clear team communication. It is also compatible with corsairs icue software for sound customization and rgb lighting control. It supports pc, mac, ps5, and ps4, making it a versatile pick as well.
However,I am having trouble deciding which is best to meet my needs.Which one would you recommend — the 2.4GHz Wireless Gaming Headset or the Corsair VOID RGB ELITE?
There are WAY better sources mate, rting i would put at the top of that list but that’s a low bar to clear.
The problem is designing something that’s sounds good, comfortable and affordable is not easy, throw in wireless into the mix and you have even less.
So in most cases gaming headsets sound horrible, there are a few outside case but they are rare - in most cases its an audio company that releases a gaming headset or a gaming company contacts an audio company to design one for them.
That being said there good ones out there, as far as i know the current “champ” of the gaming headsets is the Audeze Maxwell - i would personally recommend this video, Badseed isnt an audio reviewer (most gaming stuff) but he knows good audio
I had the Void Pro years ago. Comfortable fit but wouldn’t use them for music. The 7.1 didn’t help much since the channel matching was so poor the imaging wasn’t accurate. If you have a 3.5mm jack on the controller the KZ Castor mic version sounds much better, really comfortable, and so easy to drive they’re my gaming IEMs.
The Hyperx Cloud Stinger Core can found on eBay and is surprising how good it sounded, Godzilla battery life, auto mute mic when you flip it up, and light as a kite.
Guess I will chime in here since its been a while. Most of those headsets are complete junk as is the software. If on PC use case most of that software can either be obtain through alternate sources, outright free at times, and in the most extreme use cases 7.1 and other softwares can be found within game dac/amps. Most of it is complete worthless and tends to ruin more than 90% of the gaming audio engines excluding the worst case scenarios like call of duty
I will chime in on here and double up on this one, maxwell is easily the best sounding wireless headset on the market my only downsides with these cans are the fact that they are very heavy making them a hit or miss on long term gaming and comfort, however you can atleast change the pads. The other issue here is the mic is not that great… however, compared to others in the wireless category it is better than over 90% of the worthless junk in that market.
another recommendation I will toss in there that really stands out would be the newer astros a50x or a50s new gen which far exceed their previous generations in terms of qualities especially in the case of the microphone(currently this is the best wireless headset mic on the market to my knowledge excluding more dedicated setups)
as for potentially cheaper setups… my vote would go immediately towards Steel Series since its much more flexible in most use cases… as much as I despise them for inferior qualities they are very versatile in use cases and EQ for most gaming use cases(think jack of all trades master of none)
Cheaper than that… Id then go looking at corsair or razer, especially something like razer since they tend to be on the bassier side anyway. Voids okay, its passable… but overall its uhh to say the least I would give that thing a 3/10 id sooner go with like dunring brought up something from hyperx
