đŸ”¶ Beyerdynamic T1 Gen3

Thanks for the suggestions, I will most likely hold off until CanJam next year and will be sure to check out the Meze offerings.

I’ve only had the DT1990 a couple of months and still getting to know them but in the longterm would like to switch between a few sets of headphones to keep it fresh. I currently own DT770, DT1990 and the Focal Elex. The Elex is noticeably darker when changing from the DT1990 but doesn’t have any additional bass which I would prefer if a headphone is going to sound darker.

I have so far tried the Dekoni Suede pads with the DT1990 and they do indeed increase the bass, albeit too much for my taste. They currently live on the DT770 as they don’t affect them too much but are more comfy and sealing then the original pads. I’m on holiday at the moment but have the Dekoni velours at home to try out which I think will work well. The DT770 pads have a similar effect to the Dekoni suedes and have a lot more holes in them compared to the DT1990 pads, so I think a middle ground could be achieved by modifying the Balanced pads by adding a few more holes.

Hm you could also try the dekoni elite velour pads they work great for my t1.2 to tame the treble without bass bloat
And from what I heard if the 109 they are a nice set of cans but definitely not on the dark side :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
If you can live with the weight and a bit of EQout for the audeze LCD 2 could also be a set to look
Otherwise I think passion for sound has a review for both the t1.2 t1.3 and t5.3 on his channel, maybe that could also help you
Also on a side note my fav set of relaxing cans would be the zmf aeolus, not the last word in detail but you can customize them with the pads a big way and otherwise my choise for afterwork relaxing :notes::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
