Hello guys
I am about to upgrade my DT 990 600 Ohm. I have been thinking on DT1990 but recently watched Zeos review of T1.
So is T1 a better sounding option than DT1990?
Visually I prefer DT 1990 but like with a woman you truly fall in love for who she is, not how she looks as much as you fall in love with headphones for how they sound over how they look.
I know T1 is more expensive and I definitely want my new headphones to be Beyerdynamic
For vocal, classical and instrumental music, electro and shuffle music and gaming experience, paired with my Schiit Asgard 3 AMP and Geshelli Labs Enog 2 Pro DAC what would you choose?
T1 is warmer with less clampforce and is able to be driven balanced
1990 is brighter more fatuging more clamp force
I would buy non of them at the moment because the new t1 gen 3 is about to be released in 2 days
Edit: i bought the 1990 for me because its better for gaming and looks better
I would agree and disagree on some this. The T1 is indeed warmer than the 1990 if 1990 is using the A pads however 1990 has two pads upon using balanced pads 1990 gets much more bass than the T1. T1 I would say has the better mids and vocality and smoother highs. 1990 has a peakier treble than the T1 and is much more aggressive making it appear more capable of being sibilant while T1 is actually brighter but smoother with a wider soundstage and angled drivers and is very relaxed in sound.
Any actual clarification on this? I have only heard rumors on this one and the fact it’s 32 ohms.
Depends on where you are, over here in the USA I see the two priced in the same brackets usually so they go head to head.
Depends on how much you enjoyed the 990. If you like that brightness and very aggressive approach to the sound than yes, the 1990 will suit you fine however use the Balanced pads.
Personally, I think T1 has better vocality and the smooth relaxing sound is very nice on the highs with a good bass impact behind it, made even better I found out by using Dekoni Suedes, and is great for well rounded gaming both casually and competitively.
However, I do definitely feel that the more aggressive 1990, with the fact it can actually change it’s signature pretty drastically by swapping the pads, is better for competitive gaming. It’s very up in your face and the imaging is better to my experience in competitive despite the T1 having the bigger wider soundstage. The 1990 is extremely revealing and analytical and can rip apart music and pick out flaws naturally which may or may not be a good thing depending on how you look at it. T1 may have a nice impact and it’s very relaxed with a good rounded impactful bass however 1990 is aggressive and has a planar slam like bass like the 990s.
I would say the T1 is honestly closer to a direct upgrade to the DT 880s and close in signature to that of a HD800S while the DT 1990 is like a mixed bag between 880 and 990 and if you buy dekoni elite velours you suddenly end up with a signature more like the 177x GO. With the 1990 you get two pads A pads which resemble more towards the DT 880 and B pads which resemble more towards the 990s.
Either will work fine for you in my opinion just keep in mind that T1 is very demanding as it’s 600 ohms. However if @Cevisi is correct on the 3rd gen I would definitely say wait. The signatures tend to change on the generations and will drop the price on the 2nd gen accordingly if it’s the signature your looking for.
Yes there are alot of rumors but a few seller said it is ready to order at first september
Hmm, I will keep my eye’s peeled for that one then since it’s supposedly in two days. Though it just sounds like they are making it portable this time around much like T5P which is their flagship portable.
Yes i think there will be soundsignature difference because the new grill design and ne padding. But im no sure if it will me 32 ohm for portable i mean its an open back
By the way i forgot to mension one guy from another forum has the t1.3 and t5.3 review unit already on the way
I mean, they did do the same for the 880 and 990s so I guess it shouldn’t be all too surprising.
Interesting as I can’t seem to find anything on them.
It was that post you can see he editet it…
I,m sure
Maybe he don’t get them anymore or something else
But didn’t edited this one out
I would say the bigger concern is the harshness… their 32 ohm headphones don’t particularly tend to sound all that great from my experience with the lineup so far. Not sure if this is a good direction but we will see… Also, not sure how to look at that… especially since hes from canada and theres been no word. I would think someone from Germany would have first access to it
Actually I’m from germany and not familiar with the headphone scene here its like non existing even canjam doesn’t want to make a canjam munich again because its not really worth
Lets wait and see if its 250 or 32
Agreed, interested to see the new ones.
Surprised since beyerdynamic is from Germany
I live half an hour away from beyerdynamic. I never saw one to buys somewhere. And never heard of them before i got into audio. Also i never saw sennheisers hifi headphones in a shop just the cheap iems and bluetooth over ears. Bose is also 10 minutes away from where i live and in shops there are just the active noise cancelling over ears and thier Bluetooth speakers. And i never saw a headphone or speaker shop. I know one shop from the internet. Its called Headphonecompany
I also never saw someone with decent headphones or iems walking outside or ever met someone who has a good pair at home. Its sad there is so much good stuff that gets produced here
Sry for offtopic
