My pair arrived today. I used them for 30min. They sound good. It have been a long time since I had the dt990 250ohm pro or the dt990 600ohm. It seems the black pads help them with the soundstage, they are thicker. They are not as bright or forward as the dt990 pro. The driver covering foam touch my ears lol. But they donāt bother me.
Well, Zeos just went and posted his unboxing of the TYGR and SoundSurge 90, giving a very brief first impression of the TYGR
yeah I dont think this is a gonna be headphone that will really get much hate. its a beyer headphone that holds back on the beyer signature and caveats of most good beyers. its a easy to drive beyer with somewhat pulled back treble to me just those words alone is enough to compell me to grab a pair to use portably for my switch
Seriously, still waiting on my copy of this headphone. I have recieved every other headphone except the tygr 300 r. lol kinda makin me mad since I love the beyer lineup
Hard to do anything about it unfortunately the US is having issues on all fronts due to the virus. Honestly thought you would have it at this point as well
I know it sucks man. If I hear nothing by next tuesday I will shoot them an email asking about it though. From what I hear I am pretty sure I will love the headphone, ya knowā¦ considering the 990s are one of my favorite.
Same here look on the bright side at least itās available to you right now itās sold out and doesnāt ship to Canada lol
I have honestly considered trying the last one on the beyer lineup while I was at itā¦ MMX 300 but Iām really unsureā¦ the price tag is just far to steep and a lot of people said itās not worth its pricing.
Itās kinda not I understand the hype itās a pleasant closed back Beyer that has good musicality and not so analytical which is rare itās hard to justify that price tag
Well in that price tag its trying to compete with audeze mobius, hyperx orbit, and steel series arctis pro + gamedac. All of which really do stand out from the crowd of the gaming headset lineups so it made me fairly curious when I get told it can sound better than even the audeze.
I was on that road too. I have/had:
Dt770: 80ohm, 250ohm
Mmx300 1st gen
Dt1770
Dt177x go
Dt880: 600ohm
Dt990: 250ohm, 600ohm
Dt1990
Amiron home
T1.2nd
Tygr 300r
I think I will keep the following
T1.2nd
Dt770 250ohm for when I need closed back
Debating between the dt990 250,600, tygr 300r
I am leaning toward the dt990 pro. For some reason I like the boosted booming bass. I donāt remember how the dt990 600sound because I was using the liquid spark at that moment. Tygr is good, nice tuning reminds me the dt1990 ( obviously the dt1990 Is better overall 450$ compared to 200$).
I really loved the 990 for that very reason despite being extremely sharp. Traded it in to audition the 1990s and I am fairly torn on it but the T1 despite being ungodly more fucking expensive for a setup are really nice as an addition, gotta factor in they go well with a balanced hybrid amp and need a higher tier setup to really sound their best. I loved the 990 for when I was just starting and rice recommended them definitely one of the best I have sat down with for female vocals and competitive gaming(though I had to dial back the bass a tad). If the tygr 300 r is just the 990s with a dialed back treble itās almost guaranteed to stay in my collection.
Edit: just noticedā¦ I had to ask here. so whyd you prefer the 770s over the 177x? When I audtioned them I had more sibilance and a bit brighter experience on the 770s. the 177x just sounded better to me even in the bass frequency
I donāt have my dt990 pro but the tygr have less bass and treble than the pro. They sound more balanced. Detail are not shoved to your ears as the pro but they still are forward.
I donāt have problem with treble. Even my t1.2nd running balanced hit sibilant often but I donāt mind that. The dt770 is brighter than the dt177x. The dt177x sound beautifully good. I like them but they lack the beyer sound house I like bass and treble. They are more warm. Vocals sound angelic on the dt177x they remind me the t1.2nd forward warm vocals . Bright headphone with rumbling bass are my choice. Thatās why i am going to keep the t1.2nd and the dt770. The bass is tight and boosted without sounding booming. The dt770 subbass standout as everything else is recessed. I like the dt1770 pro more than the 177x. The bass was really amazing but it was to much. The dt1770 was good, coming from my t1.2nd I couldnāt hear any sibilant.
I had a pretty bad experience with the 1770 unfortunately as I had rattling drivers and quite a bit of sibilanceā¦ could have been that I just had a bad copy. Nonetheless loved the 177x. Good to know that the tygr lowers the trebleā¦ pretty sure you can just equalize the bass to be a bit better and it would work out fineā¦ that seems to be the case on a few headphones I have had. Itās been a toss up for me between the t1, 1990, and 177x though
Man, I am getting pretty upset with beyerdynamic. Order is still on backorder and I am hearing others get their copy of the headphone. No word from beyerā¦ sending an email today. Going on 3 weeks backorder
I managed to get one because I bought the bundle. The mic is collecting dust in the box ā¦
I might use them someday if the online classed require a mic or if I start dating the girl I am texting (She is a gamer, she likes to play overwatch and other online competitive).
Just got this in the email,
We apologize for the delay! We have been out of stock of the TYGR 300 R headphones. We did just receive more stock this week, and our warehouse is just unpacking the shipment. Once theyāre all set with inventory, we will be able to ship your TYGR out by the end of this week.
I mean, itās 3 weeks overdue and by the time it gets here itāll probably be a month late. Hell at the least offer me some sort of benefit for the long wait like a better shipping time or something. Donāt mean to sound entitled but that really makes me mad since I love the beyer products
Wellā¦ they are not the only ones having shipping issues. At this point if I order anything online I know I shouldnāt expect it to arrive on time. Most of the time it might be around that time.
With that said they should of maybe at least informed you a little bit sooner about what the delay was. To me, I am fine with a delay if at least the company is being transparent about what the issue is.
I really wish they would have kept me informed probably wouldnāt be as mad in that regard. A month late is a bit much. I would be okay with a week or so without much communication especially with how things are right now.
Lets hope when you get your hands on them that negative feeling goes away and put a reminder on you of the reason you enjoy beyers - top notch products. And with that in mind you can forget that delay and enjoy your listenings.
And down the road bring your review back here.
