tis true…I’ve seen it said many times that the Asgard 3 really devalued the Jot2 as the SE performance of the A3 is as good as the J2 balanced.
the only value proposition the J2 has is it will put sound to headphones and speakers simultaneously, so if you want to feel the bass, this would be perfect!
There is value in the Jot2 in that the SE and BAL outs do sound fairly different, as @WaveTheory mentioned in his review, and I’ll second.

I love these darn headphones. I’ll never forget the first time I tried some on in 2005 at a small headphone meetup. It took me nearly 15 years later to grab some from Drop and I’m so giddy about them!

anyone know how the 580’s compare to the 599 se?
I’m wondering that same thing, and also how 599se’s compare to 6xx’s. So many Sennheiser’s and I want them all…

Tried to buy Hifiman HE400i and its 129 + 46 shipping (open box). So i removed them and tried to buy them unused: 169 + 16 shipping. Basically the same happens with the Sundaras. So as you can see, i cannot recommend buying the open boxes.

Bangin’ deal. I got the Elegia for $399 two weeks ago from Adorama and thought I was stealing. Really enjoying the unique signature of the Elegia.
I’m guessing the Elegia is so low priced at Adorama because it’s a discontinued product. Adorama probably has a lot of them in stock, and they want to move them to make room for current products. It’s probably a closeout sale in everything but name.
Go for it – they’re very resolving, detailed, mid-forward cans. Wonderful with acoustic, strings, vocals and other mid-focused stuff. But lousy with metal, or poorly produced tracks in any genre.
