I haven’t heard the B20s, but I own the Elex and Aivas. I enjoy both quite a bit, and probably slightly prefer the Elex, but it’s more of a mood thing. I don’t think you can really go wrong with either. Both have great build quality, and the Aivas are probably a little more comfortable. I use the Aivas at work when not using iems
I’ve also recently acquired the elex and plan to do a review but been a bit sick and congested since Thanksgiving. I can say that have become my daily drivers over my denon 7200 and 1990. Blon b20 got sold. There’s an eq in using someone made that brings them very close to the harmonic curve and they are just so satisfying. Like speakers you can wear
Yeah the Elex just have a really pleasing way of presenting sound. Not bassy, but plenty of bass, and not sibiliant, but bright enough to be really detailed. I don’t use EQ on them at all. I really enjoy the stock tuning
I never got the DT1990 but I did get the blon b20 and the m570 and elex. but my m570 did not sound good and from what I hear from other people, especially Zeos review, I can only think that I got a defective pair. I sent them back and Monoprice accepted them easily. as for the blon B20 they sound just like the aivas but I can tell the aivas sound a little bit better.
I did also get the elex and I believe the elex sounds better than the aivas. it’s more balanced than the aivas, The aivas lack mid-range. So the elex is the best sounding headphones I’ve heard so far. so if you’re wondering which one to get depending on your budget I would go for the elex, the m570 would be the cheapest but unfortunately I’m not sure how good that is.
In zeos review he reviewed all three and he came to pretty much the same conclusion I came to, that they all sound like each other the blon b20 is a little bit better than m570 and the avias is a little bit better than the blon B20, but not by much. here’s his video:
My m570 don’t sound good either. So either they have a qc issue or this is how that are supposed to sound just awful
but zeos
20 character
They ain’t aivas unfortunately lol
I whole heatedly disagree with his with this recc.
I wish they were though
In a post I created you stated between these options you would actually go with the sundaras correct? OR save the funds up for the elex?
It depends on the sound you actually want to go for. I think if you are really after alot of treble detail, the sendy is pretty nice, but I think the sundara is more refined sounding with a better signature and presentation for a larger genre of music. The elex are sweet and I think they are the next step up imo. There are other options as well, it just depends on what you are willing to spend and what sound you think you would prefer
How long have you had it for so far, and what amp are you using?
I gave it 24 hours break in and gave it at least 10 hours listening. I believe in break in to an extent. But the treble kills me but the extra detail makes up for it and the mids have an odd resonanse that kill it for me and can’t seem to handle busy tracks because of it. And I like my treble I adore my 990 but the m570 is murder to me
For amp, the SP200 balanced and single ended. I haven’t had it that long, just a couple days. A while back I borrowed a friend’s so I can compare to the HF 580 to mod it. I wanted to reset and compare it with the M570 so one I’m “borrowing” as new though.
I do think that the M570 is really similar to the Aiva, so if the M570 is murder treble, I don’t think it’s going to change with an Aiva.
The 1990 I liked in certain use cases, but I didn’t care about it enough to pad swap. I see it more as a tool to emphasize certain aspects, that I don’t think I needed. I never missed it when I got rid of it.
The Elex is talked about for a reason. I do think this one is well rounded.
I don’t have the DT-1990 but there is something that keeps me reaching for these B20’s. The bass isn’t crazy but it’s there. Listening to edm, blues, etc… It’s like I’m right there listening almost live. The ability to hear detail with a bass thumping as fast as it does means I’m not missing anything. My ears don’t seem to get tired of wearing these headphones pretty much everyday as I work. I will say I have noticed weird little differences with equipment I have hooked them up too.
- Sounds best with airist R-2R + THX 887.
- Pleasant and I would say more thick with a Dragonfly Cobalt
- Schiit fulla 3 or magni heresy, a bit sterile and flat on the highs so eq a bit richer on bass and touch up a little in mids with my Loki.
- Fiio Btr5 needs more data
If any other reason to have the blond, they look gorgeous and are extremely photogenic. The sound stage with the current pads are great and out of the box I don’t want to mess with the headphones. I can’t justify buying the Aiva’s based on what I hear in the reviews and I can see why Zeos keeps this pair on the wall over anything else of the Sendy clones.
I agree, they sound so close unless you have to have the build and look of the sendy’s it doesn’t make sense
I say that, but my question is why does Z have the B20 and Aiva on the wall? Only non-accoustic answer I can give is that Linsoul recommendations are a steady stream of income. I walk away from using the B20 and Aiva discussion just thinking if you want to Aiva but sound stage and bass is what you want out of the box and no modding… You can’t beat the B20 out of the clones while being at a good price point. I will buy my cousin a pair if Drop sells it for $350 again.
hoipefully newer batches dont fall victim to poor driver eq
They really don’t sound different tbh, the sendy just has a bit less stage, that’s pretty much it, they both have somewhat poor bass for a planar unfortunately (but that’s by design). I don’t really think I could justify owning both, everything in my collection has to have a specific use case that doesn’t overlap lol
I thought the bass was very nice on the Aiva’s and B20’s
