Bottlehead Crack + Speedball: HD600 vs HD650

he’s pretty reasonable

Glad to see you went through him, found him on Etsy and am planning my build in August. Thank you for the thoughts and the comparison. I have the triplets (58x, 600, 6xx) still wondering if I should grab the 660.

from what I hear the 660s doesn’t really take to tube (similar to the 58x in that regard) but its supposed to be a somewhat different sound signature compared to the rest… so if you like the senn sound then its probably worth picking up :+1:

also yes James is really great so have no hesitation ordering from him :ok_hand:

Thanks for that insight, absolutely love the 600/6xx plus the comfort, def curious to try the Earman as well once I get it, keep the thoughts comin

I like the earman because it disappears lol I feel like it doesn’t add or take away much which can be nice in certain situations

My dac knowledge is very limited, the usb feature is what’s selling me, can’t really beat an iPad as a streamer for bedside, form factor suits as well, oh did you get to choose the finish on the crack or did you buy an in stock unit?

quite the price premium to get in CAD funds. 2x the USD value when exchange is 1.4x at its worst. but…u have the convenience of having it prebuilt and you get hit hard by the cost of labour.

yeah that’s true lol ive gotten used to paying a premium in Canada

I chose everything… I don’t think he has stock of assembles units

Shhh! Don’t say that!

I am curious as to what the 660’s will do on a low impedance tube amp.

Exactly what I wanted to hear, thank you sir

what was your total price in, shipped? did you get hit by customs fees?

Re: bass in the Crack with HD600 - after I upgraded the output caps the bass went to a whole new level. Of goodness. In my opinion it’s a must do mod.

ill just say pricing can vary lol and there was customs

Wish you had a T1.2 in house. Would love to hear some impressions on that pairing. Curious how it compares since I only use an LP for mine not a full on tube amp

you and me both lol… im doing a lot of listening on the 880 getting my impressions together and I don’t know if that’ll help or not but it’s the closest thing I have… I do plan on some selling and the t1.2 is most likely my next headphone

I mean, if you want a relaxed strong V signature headphone by all means pick one up. I mean, my issue with 880 is just the low end. Hate it I need more bass. Not enough body, not punchy enough, not enough sub bass.

what is the T1.2? :face_with_monocle:

im really genre specific with headphones when im just enjoying music so my love for the 880 is partially related to that… I realize it won’t be a good all rounder but it sounds like they’re just not the right cans for you, which is cool

Beyerdynamic T1 gen 2

agreed. Though granted I do love my sennheisers. On the fence on buying the 650 or 660 s

sorry Shane lol ill be watching for your posts about the 660s for sure and sounds like @Falenkor and @11_Clouds will be too :+1:
