šŸ”· Burson Soloist 3X

In what part of the world are you?

That one you linked is 75ohm. The monoprice Onix ones are very nice and have a nice secure connection. And overpriced as they may be, $11 ainā€™t as bad as some companies lol

But do you get painters tape in your fairly priced cables? I think not

Oh is it?! I could not find that info in the description, hahaha.

I will use a multimeter to measure my current cables before, if they are not 75 i will buy that one.

Canada, looks like that one from Amazon will do the trick

Alright soā€¦ this is a tripā€¦ this little device opened up the soundstage. Seem to improve the layering and depth in what I am hearing too. I had also bought an iFi power adapter a while back and I am using that as well. Which seem to add additional improvement. Highly recommend it.

I will have to do some testing with the two amps again. Might need to wait till the weekend though. But really appreciate you recommending this device. I originally had doubts originally and didnā€™t think I would hear any difference. Glad to be proved wrong

Dude I swear I never thought it could be that much better for that cheap but it just works. Like just a massive jump in clarity that I canā€™t describe. Accuracy? Idk it works though.

Yea I am really wowed by thisā€¦ listening to say OSTs is pretty freaking awesome. Itā€™s like hearing them as if I am in the theater with that large surround feel. Really impressed man!

Wow, wtfā€¦ itā€™s just a 5V/2.5A device. That shouldnā€™t be possible. Can it really keep up with the dynamics at decent volume? Porkrog, is it clearer than the supercharger or than the stock supply? I was wondering if someone tested the Soloist with HQ LPSU, but this is just madness :slightly_smiling_face:

i think he means for powering the douk u2 pro

Ohā€¦ Iā€™ve read on ali that CMD-17 should be powered only by LPSU, not by impulse supply, or it might be damaged. I wonder if thatā€™s true for this unit or for U2 Pro

I donā€™t think they take much power. I mean they come with a USB power plug lol. But I use one of the cheap talema aliexpress LPSU and I think it only outputs 5v 1a and works just fine on both my Douk U2 pro and my CMD-17.
one of these things

I use the same LPSU, just 50W variant. So, iPower2 gives significantly better results than this?

I doubt thereā€™s much of a difference but maybe. I havenā€™t tried the ipower one. ifi stuff is pretty nice, I run an ipurifier usb adapter and itā€™s great so I wouldnā€™t be surprised if itā€™s better but I got that LPSU for like $22 so Iā€™m not out much and it made a noticeable difference all by itself.

I guess by the looks of that ifi power supply they do something similar to burson to eliminate noise in the audible spectrum so i bet that thing kicks ass.

So, youā€™re using that LPSU and ipurifier for the usb cable at the same time?

wait no. iā€™m using the usb ipurifier on the usb connection to the u2pro/cmd-17 data transmission not on the usb power supply to it.

Yeah, I got it, lol. Does adding ipurifier makes an audible difference? Powering your DDCs from LPSU should already provide galvanic isolation, right?

yeah the LPSU is for suppressing some noise in the power and i use the iSilencer+ by iFi audio - USB3.0 Audio Noise Eliminator for data transmission noise

I see. Iā€™ve ordered a couple of audiophile grade USB cables to compensate for that, but I wonder whatā€™s the best approach

That iSilencer+ looks legit, Iā€™ll buy one. Hope itā€™ll bring some improvement
