Just took a lot of photos, timestamps/gallery pictures always seem to take forever. Aiming to have a listing up tonight, I’ll post here first with at least slightly better prices than I’ll put things on Reddit for.
Some notable upcoming items: Hiby R5 Gen II, Shanling UP5, Rikubuds Grand Archer, Ikko OH10. Lots more along with them, but those are probably of most interest.
whats the condition on that Hiby R5??? I have been looking at new sources and for the right price the R5 may be a nice way to try some Class A goodness and see if I can tell any difference
Nice. You know, mine get used every day to this day. My Wife loves them and uses them on her computer. I use them from time to time still as well. It’s a fun set. 180 is a steal for those. GLWS.
Prices are in USD and are F&F. I have a perfect track record on here and r/AVExchange and HeadFi, no interest in doing wrong by anyone. Rare issues have always been resolved, and I have loaned and returned multiple thousand $ worth of goods on trust alone. It’s not the PayPal fees, it’s the government trying to tax anything over $600 per year a flat 15% with no mechanism for easily showing these are losses or break-evens in a hobby.
Prices include first class shipping (if under a lb, priority if over) USPS to CONUS.
I’m a little worried about character count, so I’m splitting it into categories.
Wired earphones
215 Yanyin Canon. Add $6 to include box. Could not find any flaws, all accessories included. Fully functional quirk: switches flipped on one side! Still work perfectly, and are correctly labeled. In a Serial-less world, these would do me fine. Which is why I have them, it looked like my Serials had a permanent issue but there was a quick fix. I’m back on cloud Serial for the foreseeable future once more.
95 Ikko OH10 (purple cable or FiiO cable pictured with Blon 03). Photo shows a scratch on one of them. With tip rolling they’re a fantastic pair for both bass and highs.
15 Blon 03 modded to have tuning foam inside which I can remove. Including the little silicone spacers that for most people will improve the fit by stopping tips sliding too far down the stem. On the fence about these TBH, I know they were a “hype” rec, but they still get my rec. Baby XBA-N3s? Still uncannily good in my books. Comes with FiiO cable pictured with it or the purple one, depends if Ikko sells first and that buyer’s choice.
75 Meaoes Eagle. Add $6 to include box. Really highly textured and well produced mid-bass, for me the high end is just a little too much, but it can achieve some insane staging. Cool modular cable, eh?
35 HiFiBoy OS V3 Nothing too special I’ll admit, but worth trying for the price, both comfortable and eye-catching, at least it’s not anotherHarman™. With pictured accessories.
45 Rikubuds Grand Archer IMHO one of the very best value buys of this entire listing. If I didn’t still have the Stellar as a cheap bud and Serratus as a TOTL bud, these wouldn’t be walking. REALLY good, across the board.
45 Penon Fan OG awful cable, lovely design, heck of a fun single DD. Snazzy box and hecka tips.
10 Smabat M2S add-on only, may not include box. No cable, must have combined with with something else in the past. (Not the pair I received for free Cal! I already passed those on for free, this is a second set from a trade)
20 Penon PAC buds I have a lot of time for these, but prefer other buds in the end. Pretty good for wearing up or down, comes with cable.
35 Mifo O7 the version with CNT driver, bass for days, very classy case and metal construction.
15 Aukey EP-T32 design follows Powerbeats Pro’s precedent, good cheap bud for workouts due to hooks, though barely used by me at all and only at a desk, no sweaty workouts.
40 Beats Studio Buds I didn’t expect this, but they are my favorite TWS tuning so far. Sound great with everything. Legit Apple, certainly not a clone, and they have warranty all the way through to September this year. Not bad!
30 Sony MDR-EX750BT I’ll be sad to see these go because they sound great, and this older style is very comfortable if you’re not running/working out. Has a cable that converts it to wired, and a charge cable and pouch. I think it’s in the spirit of the MH755, definitely shares the looks.
Sources/streaming
225 Hiby R5 Gen II marks on the screen and back protectors but only those. Purple case and full accessories. Extra protectors included. Zero issues, just a little large in size for my use case.
125 Shanling UP5 Might as well be new condition-wise, no blemishes, little “leather” case, all accessories and box. For me a very handy way to have all 3 jack types readily available. Great battery life, power, and sound.
120 Aune M2 Pro (DAP) this and the SounDroid might be more appropriate for eBay / collectors. Minor signs of wear, see photos. Both of these actually sound terrific.
120 SounDroid Valoq (DAP) Exceptionally rare, great sound, doesn’t hold a charge but batteries can be found on Aliexpress. Jog wheel navigation, very sturdy volume/power knob, easy hatch on the back to roll op amps, screen displays album art. Some scuffs on screen, and minor wear elsewhere.
90 iFi xCan - signs of wear to the outside, works flawlessly, huge amount of power and the always welcome XBass switch. SE or balanced output, can receive via BT.
15 ddHiFi TC35i (2022) lightning to 3.5mm adapter, therefore a DAC. Works great, form factor doesn’t work as well as pigtail when in a cradle I use often.
Cables
20 Penon Audio OS133 4.4mm to 2-pin (15 with an IEM)
20 XINHS metallic yellow modular cable(I don’t see it as gold really) 2-pin, nice and supple
I rarely need to use it for more than half an hour at a time, though sometimes more, and charge it every so many days, but it very rarely needs it… By that I mean it never reached a time when it displayed low battery or died, so I’m unsure of how long it can be pushed — longer than any of my use cases so far.
So the battery seems strong to me from what I can tell, and doesn’t seem worse than it ever was. I know you well enough that I’d be happy to have a “satisfaction guarantee”, you can return it if the battery isn’t up to expectations. I think it would serve well though!
Ok here’s a head turner, I’d think… I’ll include any foams/wings/the original softer round case, and also this super cool case from Final Audio that feels like a vintage cigarette case, and is just about the right size.
I’d be surprised if I’ve put 5 hours on them myself.
My use case for buds is so slim. At least with the Stellar, which give me tbh just about the same enjoyment factor, no kidding, I’m not worried about fit issues or listening environment. Quality buds are wasted on me.
Some people are fussy about their Scotch but drink any old coffee, and vice versa. I think I’m particular about IEMs but most buds just plateau for me.
I bought a pair of these from @rattlingblanketwoman because they were cheap, I remembered them being well-liked/reviewed when they came out a few years back, and I thought it would be fun to see how they held up over time. I was genuinely surprised at how much I liked the OS V3s and I’m even more surprised at the fact that I use them fairly often. They have a particular presentation that I REALLY dig for a lot of my favorite rock/hip-hop and rock/electronica hybrid kinda bands. I agree that they aren’t anything special, but they’re a solid IEM with decent techs, good clarity, and an very listenable, and for me enjoyable, tuning. I paid $40 for mine and I don’t know of a bud that can be purchased for $40 right now that I would enjoy more or even as much. Just food for thought.
Edit: Whoever buys these, throw on Tom Morello’s The Atlas Underground album series and you’ll hear exactly why I like the OS V3s.
So I have a pair of the original Tangzu Wu Zetian that are brand new listened to once.
They are the replacement pair because the first set had a QC issue.
I’d much rather have the HBB Heyday edition, Wu
I know some people preferred the originals so I figured I’d see if anyone had the HBB Heyday and wanted to work out an exchange. I have both 3.5 and 4.4 original cables, the original box, and all accessories included. (US based)
