You dont see a smog device on a smoke stack. The government is already limiting power consumption from the street. My guess is there will be policy coming to force customers toward solar because more than 10min outside will cook a living creature in those states.
Thank the fictional baby Christ I live in a red state! At least the people here arenāt bat shit crazy.
Thatās just because the technology isnāt there yet, industries still use scrubbers which have been promoted by the EPA since the 70s. There are federal regulations on stationary pollution sources like smoke stacks and they have to be monitored regularly to remain within the limits of the Clean Air Act and emissions standards.
There is a possible and major backfire or consequence.
People get more panels, people pay less to the power companyās.
Things being great and cheaper. But thenā¦
Power companyās make less money and still need to maintain the grid and facilities.
They need more money. So price of power goes upā¦ and power billās will be very high.
This has happened and most likely will happen again.
Being very curious how the future will look in the next 20 years with Green movement wanting people get more electric cars and so and and then. The power prices start to get higher.
But in the meantime. It would not be bad idea to have audio amps / standby powers to be low.
Like <0.5 W. Most of the audio gear i own, already do this.
Pretty sure the green movement doesnāt want people to get more inefficient 4-seater cars of any kind, just that those who canāt be convinced not to buy small cars at least go for electrics when they do.
Yep, government and wallstreet by the book on the up and up. When did city hall and the bank worry if we can afford to live.
Sorry to come off douchy, Were all friends here. How are you going to get governments/wallstreet to self regulate
Especially today.
You here about cutting back for the little people youre not going to hear the same for the industrial complex. Like taking away your gaming rig so you can pay the increase electric bill.
The government will mandate everybody buy a tesla. But the power to charge the battery still comes from a power plant with a smoke stack. quality of life consolidation.
Red, blue, purple doesnāt make a difference. Different types of crazy is all it is in the end.
Iāve lived in FL ā UT ā CO ā TN ā NY ā UT and can say that there is a high degree of variation in state and local government efficiency and impact upon your life in this country. It does matters and not necessarily signed with pure blue or red lines.
Are you saying it matters based upon the state and not party lines? If so, I agree with that and thatās on of the whole point of states rights. We can choose to live in states that fall in line with the way of life we want to live. Although that changes constantly with the migration of people and their beliefs. I still stick to my original point, itās just different types of crazy and your feelings on which type of crazy is worse is based on your personal beliefs.
VA > FL > CO > VA > CO > WA. I have lived a great life in all of these places and perhaps thatās because I make the best of the area I live in and donāt prescribe to solid blue or red lines, or let it define my way of life.
I have listened to a morning show podcast for 8 years and one of the hosts has lived in UT his entire life and he grew up in a very conservative home and has voted rebuplican almost his entire 50 years (30+ of voting). In recent years he has had nothing but distain for the Republican party and their politics. While also not fully agreeing with Democrats politics either. People change and so should our red and blue only mindset. My point is, and was, that saying one is better than the other is bogus and lazy politics. Maybe I misunderstood your point so sorry for the rant.
Also sorry for flooding the thread. Repsonse welcome, but we should probably take it to pmās at some point here.
the pollution to create 1 electric car battery is 3xās what a combustion engine uses in its average life. go greenā¦
I watch dudes in S.africa chase baby seals all day cutting them from ocean trash on youtube. Before the virus i live abroad most of the year. I dont see how the genie gets put back in the bottle.
LOL, where are you getting this āinformationā from, some anti-environmentalist conservative-biased blog?
Gebrraly agreed. State level government can make some annoying differences like your couldnāt buy alch in grocery stores when I was in tn
Just donāt bother man. Heās been told thread title is inaccurate scaretactics like a dozen times and says he doesnāt care
that study only talks about the pollution after creation. look how much toxic residues and pollution is generated in creation. and according to that, we barely save carbon, if at all, at this time and juncture just running them versus combustion only.
i get facts from facts.
You can absaluteky chance the title by editing the first post
can we discuss and not attack now?
they are getting better. but still up to 74% more pollution. in the early 2000ās it was closer to 3x the pollution as less factories were powered by āgreen sourcesā.
never said one day we wouldnt get there. we just aint there yet.
edit: and also doesnt address the toxic leftovers issue either.
EDIT: directly from the EPA if that isnāt too communist for you
Fact 5: Electric Vehicle Myths | US EPA
74% more pollution during production not over its entire life cycle
