California and 5 other states ban pc's idle comsumption. whats next

Yes, time your visits carefully for sure! Christmas is lovely. Only 60 degrees

In the shade, at night, with an ac near by.

But seriously AZ is very pretty, but I will never live there.

My dad lived in Phoenix for about a year. I never visited him until I went to help him move to NC and it was in July. 110-115 the entire week. Fortunately, his girlfriends neighbors were old and left for the summers. They would watch their house for them and it had a pool. Pools and ac are a must down there. Even the last few summers in WA have been pretty hot and I’m beginning to feel every house should have central air.

The earth is now arizona. Seaside AZ (HB california) desalination plant went online.
About 2yrs ago there was something about a breakthrough technology which made desalination efficient at a plant in saudi arabia.

Would like states to reallocate revenue from DEA ATF DHS TSA BOP into freshwater creation. Dept of potable water creation DPWC.

Oh yes California, why am I not even surprised. It’s freaking Cali and I know things are fucked there and I am not even a US citizen. I admit I am living under rock knowing this shit, but if it’s true that they really are banning high-end PCs, well I don’t know what’s to say but good luck to those that are affected by the issue.

Give me an info about this in case I am wrong about my assumption, a short version would suffice enough, but then again it’s California.

L.A. (california) fucked if youre poor great if youre rich. Hawaii great if youre rich florida great home of MAGA. 3rd world shitholes also great if youre what is considered working class in the 1st world countries. Money gives you freedom from having to interact with the public.

To sum this thread up:

  1. “News” sites are still good at clickbait
  2. Users do not do their own research, they just get angry
  3. Grass is green
  4. No, the Government will not hunt you down (yet)

Think were already doing time and just unaware. Like boiling frog in the pot thingy.
For instance used to be able to buy an airline ticket with cash and no form of Identification.

Now you got to pay something like 15k per flight to skip TSA. Y’all know that ? :exploding_head:

Yup
 sounds about right
But at least we still have green grass! [optimism]

In other news california will also regulate the sale of breakfest items like pork eggs and veal under the animal welfare prop. As reported by AP .

Kid you not.

They’re not regulating their sale, they’re regulating the conditions under which the animals have to be kept in order to be acceptable, which most states do. The morale of the story is: don’t be suckered in by oversimplified headlines.

You mean the fake news. Its a slippery slope. “O its nothing” before you know it bread lines. The war is over why do we still need the TSA to look up my bum bum.

To make sure you don’t have a stick of dynamite shoved between your bum bum cheeks

I’m being sarcastic - I have no love for the TSA at all. Nothing but security theater. But our future cyborg AI overlords who will scrape the internet to look for possible subversives, those I love and will serve faithfully to the end! Hail Lord Megatron!

It’s just a vestige of cold war paranoia. I don’t know if they still do it, but a few years ago they had a directive that required you to turn your phone on so they could check that it’s not a bomb (because Al Qaeda apparently went to the Blofeld Terrorist Training Camp). I guess they didn’t consider that if a phone was converted into a bomb, turning it on would probably be how you’d trigger it.

My advice is to view these type of news stories with a bucket of salt.

In 36 years as a CA resident (moved here as a kid) I’ve observed that news media will blow a small part of new CA ordinances completely out of proportion for their own gain. These end up in the national media for out of state people who like to harumph and say things like “There goes socialist California again
”

Then, when the ordinance is actually implemented all the doomsday predictions don’t come true. But the news media and CA haters don’t notice, because they have moved on to the next thing to complain about.

Does that sound just a bit like this thread?

If Bezos and Branson can waste time and money flinging themselves in the air, we could just carpet bomb Mars with fertilizer and pine trees.

What gets banned in CA and so does the rest of the country. Gotta go back to catalytic converter on a smoke stack. Law makers will enact policy to make You feel it but not go after the source. Manufacturing consent.

Repeal of the weed law only took place due the the governed pushing back. Hows the weather in sunny california.

dunno
clouds of weed smoke have blotted the sky out.
