Two days ago, playing music I noticed what at first glance looked like yellow “dust” or maybe even pollen on top of my speakers. Hmm I said to myself, Let me give it a wipe, and settled down for some music listening.
Yesterday, I go for my usual listening routine and sure enough, there’s the “yellow dust” again, except this time there’s a lot more of it and… it’s moving. The little bits of dust are moving on the tops of both speakers and the preamp. The speakers are a deep blue teal and the preamp is gloss black so both contrasted it well.
After a thorough defestation of thousands of palm mites, I moved the offending palm from the corner of the room, some of the leaves were partially overhanging the stereo and hence, chaos.
Lesson learned.
