$2699 For this one I think Clement is asking.
Swap stock nozzle config (forgot what it uses) and put a high density foam inside the nozzle and then tanchjim filter (can substitute with 1 or 2 500 mesh)
Perfect thanks so much for sharing let me try that.
I would commit unspeakable horrors to own one of those
they look absolutely gorgeous and if I was a healthy 25 yo male, my kidney would be gone even with this saturated market lmao
There is always the option of becoming a Gigolo ?
Or sell most of your IEMS like I did , It was worth it.
In fact I might sell a few more to buy the RA as well.
man if i could be a gigolo lol, id be down to finance my iem addiction lmao
my collection is too small , id only let go of my Project M and the cable oxidized so I dont wanna sell that to someone lol
New listen today the Cantor and mini Shanling M1+
Cantor sounds balanced and big stage great un ox experience the hype maybe legit!
Oriveti has done it again $149 1+2 Hybrid
âLowmasterâ
What a wonderfully balanced IEM with grrat tonality and stand out 3D holographic staging!
Great Vocals , with correct weight and pitch for Male & Female
3D Holographic Stage is so Fun
Balanced yet not boring, fun and energetic
Great Bass texture
Smaller semi custom shells are nice to see and look stunning
My favorite IEM case
Wish it had more MB Slam - But I always want more!
3.5 SE Cable only
Thats to others like me who tested 2 sets of the Hisenior MEGA5EST and proved Hisenior was doing silent retunes.
I knew about the Okavango but now I proved the MEGA5EST as well.
Shitty practice and very bad form for Hisenior
They should offer a replacement or trade in program at the very least for paid customers.
I was kinda pissed when I bought & reviewed the Okavango, pointed out some flaws, gave them feedback and then a few months later a silent retune and fix of the horrible driver flex.
Now they are going back to the OG that had worse tuning OMG good luck.
Another fucking company doing silent retunes. I guess transparency with customers isnât a Chinese business practice?
I was SO interested in the Mega5EST as my first $500+ IEM. Not so sure anymore.
@pk500 I have the Mega5est with new tuning. It is an excellent IEM, thatâs worth its price. I have tried a lot of IEMs in the $300 range and mega5est beats them all. I watched all reviews available about it before buying, and they exceeded my expectations. It doesnât sound boring like some reviewers said.
The extra 5.8 kHz energy give more clarity, without being sibilant. Overall they present music in the most realistic way compared to any other IEM I have tried. Sometimes it gives me goosebumps, cause I feel like I am in the room where the music is played by musicians. No IEM has given me this feeling this much.
Thatâs good to know. But my point: How the hell would I know which tuning Iâm getting if I buy these?
Silent retunes are complete bullshit, and I have a hard time supporting companies that do them.
IMO the MEGA5EST and Mega 5 are very overrated not worthy of the hype and your best looking elsewhere.
Thatâs, just my opinion, I have listened to many IEMâs and I dont find this one doing anything standout or special.
Just posted a short hack to modify the AFUL Cantor nozzles to be more comfortable and use any eartips
When I did this and switched to the Penon Laquer eartips OMG⌠Ummmmmmm
Takes the Cantor to a top tier IEM for me!
Sorry, but no âflagshipâ IEM should require that kind of homebrew modification for proper fit and best sound. A $150 IEM? Fine. A $800 unit? Nah.
Glad you dig, though. And thanks for sharing with the community.
But this reminds me of someone buying a really expensive sports sedan and requiring the installation of aftermarket exhaust, manifold porting or different tires to get peak performance. Stock should be correct with a âflagship.â
Pains me to say, as Iâm an AFUL stan. Love my MagicOne and Explorer.
I didnât say anyone had to do what I suggested in order to get proper sound or fitment.
It literally takes 20 seconds, and any audiophile would spend the time and effort in my opinion to get the best out of their set!
I think your response was a bit over the top.
I am certainly no AFUL stan, in fact this was the first AFUL IEM I liked enough to be enthused about.
Enjoy the music as always.
28 BadAss- BAâs Worthy Of Flagship Status
Lots of folks were eagerly waiting for this release for good reason AFUL being the technology forward thinkers they are, really had thier engineers working long hours on this one.
- And it payed off!
I would describe the CANTOR as,
FUN, ENGAGING, ACCURATE, RESOLVING, BALANCED, EXTREMELY COHESIVE, IMMERSIVE SOUNDSTAGE, TRANSPARENT, TAKING NO PRISIONERS KIND OF IEM.
Bass is standout ,viseral hits with deep and substaining notes, while maintaining layering and texture. Dynamic Driver Sound with speed and precision of Balanced Armatureâs.
Highy Resolving and follows the source track accurately.
Stage is very 3D and completely immersive with excellent spacial ques, with great depth and height ability.
Mids are done completely neutral and balanced not elevated like a Harman Tuned IEM and come across as having natural tonality and pitch perfect tambre.
FUN factor is high
Zero pressure build up with Internal and External venting tech.
Highs That go on forever with a buttery smoothness that can pull out every micro nuances.
Top notch included accessories like a beautiful case and cable with optional 3.5 or 4.4 choice of termination.
The extra long and unique nozzles require you to educate yourself to correctly installing eartips - not conventional just the tip method.
The longer nozzle stems might cause irritation to your ear if you canât find the correct eartips Installed correctly.
I needed a nozzle mod to get to my happy place with tips and fitment.
Overall I feel AFUL is fully justified to charge $799 for the CANTOR.
There is alot of R&D , testing and money required to put out such a complete tuning worthy of a flagship status IEM and AFUL did just that.
If you need to sell a few / all your other sets to afford this one then I donât think the Cantor will leave you wanting for anything.
Thank you AtFull & HiFiGo for faciliting the unit for review.
Fair enough. But youâre not the first Cantor user to report odd fit due to the nozzle angle and length.
I just expect to open the box, add tips and go when Iâm paying $800. Has AFUL explained why the nozzle is so long and angled seemingly in reverse? Has it explained why the tips need to be fitted differently?
If there was a reason to the rhyme, I would be more enthusiastic about this set.
Full disclosure: No question the ceaseless hype and delays have soured me on the Cantor ⌠my objectivity is compromised.
Yeah, messing around with iems in the budget range is one thing but at higher prices I expect that everything is already done for you, which is the reason you are paying that much to begin with.
Frankly speaking I am not sure, but I suspect it has to do with maximizing the SQ from a theorhetical perspective, problem is that a lot of companies seems to think this way and then forget the one big crucial fact. It does not matter how good the design is from a theorhetical perspective, IF the fit/comfort is gonna be ass in your earsâŚ
I feel you, I was actually suprised AFUL agreed to send me a unit , I guess they didnât see my P8 or Explorer reviews ⌠or maybe they did and decided to take the chance anyway knowing I would like this tuning?
I was pretty critical of thier other releases!
Happy I got a chance to hear this one and now I get to send it on tour for otherâs to chime in on thier take of this set.
