Thank you, cool interview and Simon really feels like a great guy!
Simon actually mentiones the 2nd part of my statement as THE reason. That the nozzle was supported against the rest of the shell, which makes it very hard to clean and sand, which is fair, and probably not very efficient when you are at scale

I am loving this DC Elite has become one of my go to spurces for testing and just plain music.

My suprise this week was my first listen to the TRI Draco , the i3 MK3 is underwhelming but the Draco is big open and fun warm bottom and energetic top with that true open back like presentation.

How does DC Elite compares to XM5 in terms of Resolution & Accuracy

I would say it exceeds it

Nice IEM, but totally underutilized the DD and Planar.
I get what they were going for here but why put a great driver and nice planar in if your not going to use them.

Good news it sounds great on EQ.

What you can’t see is the iBasso DC Elite as the DAC & Oriveti OH700VB still love this set so much.

Some Joe Satriani before sleep! Going to dream electric guitar dreams tonight. I will probably be air playing!

:grinning: Open Back is legit in creating a spacious sound
:grinning: Bass done with real mid bass hits and still textured not basshead like the DYNAQUATTRO but fun and textured
:grinning: No slouch for vocals and instrumental tonality
:grinning: very nicely done with that 6mm Titanium driver lots of energy but not too much so ypu can’t listen for a long time LOUD
:grinning: Build quality and fit finish looks way more expensive than the $59 Price tag
:grinning: High on the musical fun factor

.:face_with_peeking_eye: Comes with a ok cable and too small a case.
:face_with_peeking_eye: People looking for a super detail and analytical beast move along nothing to see here.

Maybe If I listened to female vocals 24/7 only- for this one if definitely not for me.

Makes my ears ring even at low volumes.

Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out!

:grinning: Super Pretty Shells
:grinning: Strong technical details
:grinning: Extention and air into the presence region very strong if you like that kind of tuning

:grimacing: Too much upper mids and treble for tonal accuracy makes lower string Instrumental ( Cello 6 string) sound thin
:grimacing: Makes my ears ring even at low volumes
:grimacing: Bass has nice output but gets washed away from the energy up top.
:grimacing: Woofers sounding like they are crossed over too low the cut off doesn’t allow more progression into the lower notes and sounds a bit monotone.
:grimacing: Added Mid Bass is nice but decay is too quick not letting the notes finish and don’t layer well. Not as much texture as it sould sound.
:grimacing: Set leans more into preference for more thinner female vocals and instrumental like piano sound thin not enough note weight for male vocals to come though with enough husk to sound correct.
:grimacing: A niche tuning and won’t work for all genre and libraries.
:grimacing: Cable should just be a OFCC not SPC adding to the extra brilliance.
:grimacing: Provided cable at $300 should be nicer and modular to be competitive , case should have been x Jay’s Audio branded as well as cable after all this was a collaboration right?

Utterly shocked at your findings, I can’t lie.

Also very different from my experience, but that’s the nature of the hobby! Good to have as context for interpreting your other reviews :slightly_smiling_face:

Estrella made your ears ring when the Cantor didn’t? That’s suspicious.

Thats pretty unfair statement do I tell you how you heard things?

No the Cantor did not make my ears ring, and the last one that did was the StarRiver. The treble engery is in different places.

It’s just highly suspicious that you were fine with the Cantor and not the Estrella, but hey if that’s how you “hear” things :man_shrugging:

Also how did you get an early unit of the Cantor btw?

Whats a matter with your coupler?
And your unit doesn’t look like the unit i tested thats a whole lot more bass and mid bass thats carries into the rest of the mids.

So you’re telling me the extra energy and shrillness on the Cantor didn’t affect you whatsoever?

Sorry i dont hear it that way with silicone tips even no foamies required.

In my reviews I am fully transparent with my Library, my sources and use music to translate what I hear.
