They on the plus’s and pro’s now LOL

The Title says it all!

:grinning: Best in class and above presentation and unboxing.
:grinning: Gorgeous shells and Maple Faceplates
:grinning: Case and Cable will make 64 Audio ashamed
:grinning: NON HARMAN tuned and has a wonderful Glide for mid bass that lends to great weight for guitar, Cello, piano and male vocals and that perfect balance of not too much bleeding into the mids to mess up female vocals but they are warmer than thinner and drier.
:grinning: Nice mids with a hint of warmth and color.
:grinning: Treble has been done to be safer for treble sensitive people.

 Needed some power to get going
 Too safe for treble heads
 Technical details are just OK
 3.5 SE Cable only would be nice to have seen a 4.4 balanced version.

The smart thing I should have done was listened to un-modified version first but I can’t stop, falling hard here for my re-tuned set.

Its something everyone can do for $0.50 some micropore tape over front DD vent for the bass boost and a nozzle filter to knock down those upper mids and fix the channel imbalance.

PULA Anvil 114 - I got to name this one!
I asked for more mid bass and Tan Donghua came through in spades!

What does an anvil symbolize?

Just as a blacksmith uses an anvil to bend and shape metal into objects, the anvil is a symbol of universe being forged and created.

1x Dynamic Driver 1x 11mm Bone Conductor Driver 4x BA

Any doubts about bieng made in the same factory as DUNU , Same cable they even call it by dunu tradmark name , Dunu Candy tips , double flange and w07 all included and that Case :

I know graphs aren’t everything, but from the graph you have of this set… I still need help understanding how with no other spikes or elevated areas to balance it out, the extremely elevated 4-5k region… how does that not sound extreme or harsh or out of whack with the rest of the FR?

Can’t explain it but just sounds right?

Some don’t sound like they graph like the Plunge Audio IEM’s

It sounds more natural than project m for me and I put that in the video. It’s just maybe where my ears need that energy to make them sound correct

Got it.

I’m finding there are quite a few areas where I need less than most folks for it to sound right (I don’t need the extra 8k emphasis a lot of bassy or flat sets add “back in” and prefer to go without it).

I’ve been listening to the Explorer a lot lately probably mainly because it dodges a lot of sensitive areas in pinna gain and higher.

But to be honest 2k-6k for me is something where I have to hear the set and compare, I’m running out of patience in my ability to make predictions about that area from graphs because the rest of the tuning plays too large a part of whether I’ll be sensitive or not.

Generally speaking a steep 1-2k rise is a no-go for me, that’s actually what adds in a sibilance to consonants for me (I would always have expected a higher frequency area would do that but it seems to be a consistent link(

Typically for me though 4-5k can be fine if it has enough to balance it out in the low FR. Penon Serial walks a fine line with this but pulls it off for me to splendid effect, if the bass were lower I would find the vocal area too much.

Without hearing it I’d still expect this large peak with no balancing-out lower down would hurt me.

The Unity stays much flatter, which is why its bass sounds much more ample than it would if there were any later elevation.

Anyway thanks for the impressions.
