P6P:
Feature Pros - very simplistic, great as a digital transport with spdif out, fast enough. BT is actually best I’ve heard, but it’s still bt. Custom tuning modes for iems or headphones, if they made one for yours at least
Feature Cons - UI is underdeveloped and not polished, USB audio is gimped (limited to 16 bit basically, sq not as good as playing direct off device as well), has various limitations like 20k file limit for indexing, no gapless playback, no custom eq, sometimes volume range can be iffy. Also noticeable warmup (and also breakin) that makes you want to leave it playing 30min-1hr before actually listening. Also single ended not really great in comparison to balanced but that’s more indifferent than a con. DSD playback is alright I guess
Sound Pros (on nos, which you should have it at) - Fantastic organicness and richness without being overdone, highest performing dac I’ve heard in a dap, warmer leaning signature with a bit of smoothness but forward ish. Awesome microdynamics, resolution, timbre, spatial recreation (more focused on depth than width), weighting/tonal density and overall naturalness while being very technical. Great overall control too but not as standout. Very black background.
Sound Cons - It’s coloration doesn’t pair well with everything, guess it could use a bit better macrodynamics, not really many qualms considering it’s one of the best DAPs I’ve heard, perhaps could have a bit better treble extension and prominence.
LPGT Ti:
Feature Pros - UI well polished and refined, insanely fast startup time, amazing eq and upscaling if you want as dsp is super solid, easy to use, usb dac works almost as well as internal playback with more modes. Single ended and bal are actually pretty close, although bal has the edge. DSD playback is awesome. Very fast file transfer over usb as well
Feature Cons - Not a ton of features altogether, although there’s not too much I can pick at here since for what it has, it does really well.
Sound Pros - Most balanced and refined/mature sound I’ve heard out of a dap, it’s so well rounded. Very black background, really neutral presentation, stage that’s very defined although not that wide and deep, dynamics between macro and micro are very balanced, great timbre and tonality, great resolving power, very black background, really impressive energy and control, great overall extension and sparkle in the treble.
Sound Cons - It’s neutrality and honesty might not be very fun at times, also can sometimes get a bit too forward for some pairings, might be too much for overly bright headphones. Not as much immediate wow factor as the P6P, it’s more understated but this is more a neutral than a con
It’s really hard to fault either one lol, both are my 2 favorite daps I’ve heard. I do think as a whole, from a technicality perspective, the P6P is ahead of the LPGT Ti, but is also more noticeably colored and pairing dependent, whereas sound wise the Ti feels more well rounded, mature, and also garbage in garbage out where the P6P will sweeten things more. I personally find myself using the P6P more sound wise since I enjoy what it has to offer a bit more than the Ti, but I do accept the Ti is a bit more honest, and it also does come down to pairing
From a feature and usability perspective though, the P6P comes with a lot of limitations and downsides that the Ti just doesn’t have, so from a usability perspective I vastly prefer the Ti. But the sound is so good on the P6P I am willing to live with the issues lol
I can get more into a comparison for like other sound settings, headphone and iem pairings, more in depth technicality comparison, etc if you want but this is likely good enough to get the point across
In terms of pairing either one with the C9, I think that will really come down how you want to tilt things, and also what you were pairing, both paired pretty well, and I could go either way depending on what I wanted and what headphones I was using
