Cheap tone controls

looking for a cheap amazon solution for tone controls.

i would love to purchase a schiit lokius, but cant afford to do that at the moment.

currently using SMSL D300 dac, into a topping A30 pro. i have dt 177x go and a pair of senn HD 560S.

i love the 560’s and i really want a way to just give them a bump in the sub and lower bass area.

i often use sdif from my tv for movies and other things so i would like the analog control.

any suggestions, i did think about just a very cheap tube preamp with bass and treble but something about that just seems wrong lol.

cheap amazon something for now would great, until i can jump on the lokius, im in canada so its more then the 299 for me to get it up here.

I’m assuming you’re unwilling to go unbalanced for this?

Why not a used Loki Mini? There is also the Fosi Audio P1 which probably fits your needs best right now from what you described. Also, the Bellari Audio EQ570.

I agree with @AnjTheAudiophile I have the Loki mini and love it and use it for primarily the same purpose…to give my DT880/600 a bit of bass and low mid boost. It also adds some sense of depth to the soundstage. Also handy for bringing forward those vocals which need a kick. (All this is if your budget allows at this time, of course.)

Dude:

I’m in the States. I have a JDS Labs Subjective 3 three-band analog equalizer that I’m willing to sell you for a very good price. Contact me via PM.

It’s a nifty little unit that will do just what you want. Details on Subjective 3: JDS Labs - Subjective3 - Preamps

I think Bellari has one that’s almost the same as the loki but a bit cheaper

Why wouldn’t you use a software EQ? Much better control, and it’s free

Cause they’re using SPDIF from a TV a lot.

Ah, I see.

some people also just don’t like software eq (I’ve never had a good experience with it lots of bugs/issues and a general hassle compared to just turning a knob)

I also do not know if this is placebo or not, but I feel that hardware EQ works better. I feel as though there is a slight improvement over using something like Peace. I found the differences more pronounced when the EQ is built into the actual dac as is the case with my Monolith 788. I have heard some people say the same about the RME ADI-2 dac. Again, I haven’t done extensive testing, so it could just be placebo.
