Choosing between Airpods Pro 3, Sennheiser MTW4 or Sony XM5?
I want to know the difference in frequency response, sound character and codecs between these. I use an iPhone 15 with a Sennheiser MTW2, and I am pleased. To note, I just returned a Technics AZ60M2 because the highs were too sharp to my ears. I prefer a slightly elevated bass and relaxing highs, alla Marantz. Please help me choose thanks.
No graphs of the AZ60 out there afaik but.
if this is anything to go by the Sony XM5 is fairly similar to the tuning on the AZ lineup and if the AZ was too sharp for you neither of them look to be much safer for you tbh…best would be to pick the one with the best EQ app and lower the treble there (or just use a PEQ app that works with everything like Poweramp EQ),
However if the MTW2 works for you it sounds like your sensitivity is arond 3-6k area which is notable lower on the sennheiser tws. so i would go for the MTW4.
the airpods are the most likely to be bad for you so ignore that one..
Codec you can just google that…but if you are on iphone then you just have SBC or AAC available for you.

Well actually I tried both the Senns and the Sonys and went with the Sonys. I like that it’s flat ish but with sub bass and it still has treble, but no treble peaks. The Senns have treble dips, it’s a bit too much.
