Hello I have been looking true the site and reddit and can not decide on my close-back headphone.
Let me start with a gear : Fiio Q1 mk2 and Sony WH1000XM4. I really do not think they perform well for something that priced and I do not need ANC anymore.
What I once owned : M40X,ATH TAD400 -> HD650,KSC75. I sold 650 cause I went to collage.
I loved sound of HD650 mainly their mid. Vocal were so great. Sometimes I EQ them on foobar but i am not fan of eq-ing. For KCS75 I like them more than sony’s and will be using them as portable.
Music I listen to : Metal, Pop, Hip-hop, Reggae, electronic music (mainly synthwave for example Gunship), videogames or movie/anime OSTs.
The dilemma is me being in Europe and with 500euro budget (max) .
Why not open ? I do not want to make my roommates listen to my music/voices if i am on discord
Looking forward for your suggestions guys!
Kennerton Magni…wait for a sale or look for used. Excellent and at a good price point. Check out the reviews. Local to you from Russia.
I used to use the Neumann NDH 20 when I had a roommate and it isolated well. Great closed back with a natural timre that should have similar mids, vocals and presentation to your 650, a bit more neutral and less dark than the 650 though. Don’t know what they go for in europe but since they’re german most likely under your budget cap.
KPH30i. They don’t leak that much sound and are top 10 even with all my high end headphones
I had them and i like my KCS75 with porta pro headband more
Fair enough. consider the MMX 30o for sure. Top tier closed back sounds as good as a T50 Argon. really easy to power. benefits from tubes if you have them and the mic sounds as good as a blue yeti. Great on stock pads even better with Dekoni choice leather pads.
I have been thinking about those. Probably going to save some money and “bogged” them
At a budget of $500 euros you might be able to find a Focal Elegia. They have been recently discontinued and there have been deals popping up in the U.S. well under that price. If you aren’t opposed to looking used, there have also been people who purchased them at discount prices and then decided they wanted to sell them and try something else. So those deals will probably be available also.
I will second the Elegia as an option. They’re really impressive if you can find them around 500 Euro mark. Hip-hop tracks may want a bass boost though, but I believe the Fiio Q1 has it, no?
Also, just listened to “Dark all day” by the Gunship, and the results were interesting. It maybe lacked a little in the bass quantity, but the Elegia dynamics can do awesome things in the bass hits. Still, this is not exactly my type of music so take it with a grain of salt.
