Closed back hp for Grado lover?

Thank you. But don’t be surprised if I end buying… another Grado! I know there are lots of people who hate them, but I love their clarity and presence. And I don’t find them treble harsh. Well, everybody has his own ears.

Their sound is decent for the price, but build quality is definitely a bit plasticky-cheap feeling. I would tend to suggest spending a bit more on a k371 or dt770 as a general recommendation. Also you might want to look at the AKG K553 as a more bright-leaning closed back – they’re pretty underrated, imo.

I hear you on that!

I tried and gave up on ear buds a long time ago. They kept falling out and were uncomfortable.
I also avoided the Bluetooth headphones/earphones like they were the plague, thinking that they wouldn’t sound great. I have been trying to find a small, well rounded something to hear music when I am out walking, at the DMV, working, etc.

I was watching a baseball game on Sunday and noticed ball players wearing what looked like Apple airpods as they were warming up. These guys were kicking high and doing a lot of full body stretching and moving around. Not once did an airpod fall out or even need to readjusted.
Maybe I need to consider Bluetooth ear buds for my “on the go” music needs? Grado has an interesting looking model that kind of “locks” in, GT220 I think. Hmmm…

I know this is a Super late reply, but I saw the thread name and had to pop back in. I had a closed back comparo for the five sets that I own. When I writing a quick description of one certain model, Grado came to mind.
First off, I Love my Grado GH2’s and they are my oldest headphones.

Anyway, one headphone that will be leaving my collection are the LSA HP-2’s. They have great transparancy and separation, IMO. To me they are precise and open sounding. Also comfortable and Very attractive. Only downside is that they are pretty bass light. After I wrote that I thought to myself, “Kind of like Grado’s. Great mids and above, but a little lacking in the bass, like my Grado’s.”

Just an FYI.
