Ether CX? Or are the Cascades just more fun and still check the boxes?

Neumann NDH 20. The only issue is maybe comfort for you, it depends on your ear size honestly, and how you cope with headphone comfortability personally.

Yeah the Neumann’s lack of comfort rule them out.

Cascades have a ton of low end and are easy to drive. If you have a good amp I would recommend the Ether CX.

THX amplified. I have to order the headphones in beginning of July the latest. For the moment it’s looking like no Cascades available anyway.

Massdrop Fostex and Ether C?

Focal Elegia is my closed back endgame I save up for until end of 2019
had half the money together and the 177x Go (Mass-)Drop started - I could not resist
a few days ago the THX 789 Drop started and I also joined with the new saved up money

now I have only one priority - the Elegia. Very balanced sound, good isolation and a very good soundstage for a closed back. I had listened a few times with my own source material to them and must have it.

best comfort(after the Ether C Flow)
very good resolution
good isolation
wider and deeper soundstage than Mr Speakers Aeon Flow Closed
less aggressive than DT 1770s
more balanced than Cascades
…

Last hifi show here in Finland I auditioned The Elegia, not bad at all. But unfortunately tried the Stellias right after and that headset ruined the Elegias for me.

Neumann NDH 20. Oh that satisfying low end!

Elegia is endgame for me. I tried the Stellia at Munich High End a few weeks ago … nice but that is not the environment to listen carefully to a headphone. Not my budget - and the wife acceptance factor is more so the problem

Best part was Meze Empyrean out of Cayin N8 in “tube”-mode - ahhh  what a wonderful experiance

Also tried again some Mr Speakers and had a Chat with Dan. I know his work from other listening sessions and love the comfort, his soundtuning and the maker behind the product. The small updates…

For closed backs, it is really hard. We have so much open backs.

I have no comfort issues with them personally

What about Meze Classics/Noir? I’ve been personally considering these for at office/commuter cans. Not the sexiest suggestion but I’ve heard only good things.

fitwise perfect. But resolution lacks. I’m using Audioquest Nighhtowls now, definitely no listening fatigue and very comfortable, but I wanna pair of cans that dig a little deeper.
