Hi. I’m from Europe. I have HD-58X and I was thinking about getting a closed-backed headphones around 400€ (0.9€ = $1). I listen to a lot of genres and I also game. I want them mainly to chill out.
I saw the TR-X00 Mahoganys (EU version) in massdrop for 370usd = 330eur. I also have considered the DT1770 (DT177X GO too expensive because of taxes). Any recommendations?
I think you will find the TR-X00s to be far better for chilling. I use mine for that and love them. They have excellent drivers and are rich and beautiful bass on up. They reproduce sub-bass for sure, but are less controlled on the super low end. I can listen to them for hours without fatigue. That is a great price too.
The DT1770s are going to be fatiguing after a while. I love my DT177Xs, but they have been tamed compared to the work-oriented DT1770…
Before I make any suggestions I would not recommend the regular 1770, it is not a chill can. Very in your face with the details and can be fatiguing. Not a bad headphone, just does not fit what you want.
Something to note is that they are more semi open than closed, so they let a decent amount sound in and leak a decent amount out

Do they isolate more than hd58x? I just want that they don’t feel very open.
They do, but they still sound like a semi open, but if you don’t mind the leak and are looking for less open than the 58x, the x00 is a great choice (but it’s not going to isolate)

I see the t60s as a good option, but what about argons? They are 320usd (shipping included) with the protein pads. I think I can get them evading taxes if I talk to the guy from Modhouse.
Hmm, argons take awhile, but they are a mod of the t50 (as are the t60 actually). Pretty surprised you can get argons over there actually lol. If you can get argons, I actually think they sound better than the t60. The argons are wide sounding, with nice bass, and a fun sound (v shaped). It depends on what music you listen to. I think they are also a bit relaxed too
