Comparing the JDS Labs Atom and SMSL SP200 THX AAA 888

That’s the rack DMS presented to Linus, isn’t it?

Well just like abyss and eleven audio, the company is owned by JPS labs lol

Do you own any $1000 racks? I would almost bet that you do.

That is false. That will change though when the studio is built because of a mastering desk which does have racks in it so I guess it technically counts as a rack

hah, okay cool.

I’m a cheap ass for the rest of my life lol, I have my priorities

This SPL Mini amp might be a solid competitor to the RNHP. It’s a bit more costly at $850, but way more power…

I actually didn’t like the mini that much TBH, I would rather get the rnhp or save for the phonitor e

ah okay…

I mean it’s still a good amp, that’s just my opinion

I would probably just take your word for it… unless someone else that has actually heard it wants to chime in… I personally have not even heard the Phonitor E until mine gets here… lol

The e is pretty good, especially for the price you got it for lol, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed

Have you had a chance to listen to the HPA4? If yes, were you able to hear the same flaws that come with the topology THX tech uses?

Then what amp do you recommend for the Clears? I have a Thx 789 what would be a good upgrade in the 1500dollarish range? Maybe a questyle? I like balanced detailed sound signature like the Clears.

Which amp did you like the most with the Clear?

Pretty sure they said that they liked the RNHP the most, even over the SP200 and the Monolith 887, on the Clears

How would the Cayin iha-6 compare to the RNHP?

between the THX amps and RNHP, I prefer the RNHP. I have an SPL Phonitor E on the way, though… I’ll likely post my thoughts in the coming up week. @M0N has a lot more amp experience than I do and recommended the RNHP in the first place. =)

The HP4A was noticably better and the flaws were not as present for sure, but at that price range I think there are amps that I prefer more

They are really made to be something different. The iha 6 is an absolute powerhouse with a slightly warmer signature, a do it all workhorse amp, where the rnhp is more neutral made for most headphones but it can’t really do well with power hungry ones
