I don’t have the Variations but I have seen and read many reviews. I think it’s simply an iem towards the analytical side.

I generally like to describe the Variations as a “clean and lean, yet still fun and musical” set. It is more genre specific than other sets, but for my personal tastes it does almost anything I throw at it at least well.

I should mention that with the SpinFit Tips I use, it fits me like a glove and I can wear it for hours without discomfort.

FWIW, I actually didn’t have any discomfort with the Variations either (or the B2/B2D for that matter). I know some people have complained about discomfort from the shell and particularly from the nozzle size, but it wasn’t an issue for me.
