DAC/AMP for AKG-K702 on PC

Hi,
i search for a DAC/AMP solution for my AKG-K702 as i says in the title. ^^
Mainly for gaming and listening to music.
My Budget is fairly low with 110$ up to my limit with about 160$.

I think i have no other requirements.
I just want the best possible sound experience in this budget.
Hope u have all the informations you need.

Regards

Topping dx3 pro, or a topping a30+d30 combo, probably.

The dx3 pro is a bit over my budget. ^^’
Is it worth to save some money and buy this DAC/AMP?

You could get a jds atom and a topping d10 and get the d10 later

Thank you for answering me. Maybe this sounds pretty stupid now but i not sure if i want the AKG-K702 anymore . I do not own them but when i crate this post i was sure to buy them and so i want to ask right now which DAC/AMP ist good for it.

Most decent dacs will power the k702 just fine. Even something like the fiio k3 would do just fine. Just curious, what makes you want to sway from the k702?

At the moment i play 80% games and 20% listen to music on PC. So i should by Headphones that are “good for games” (Possible to hear foodsteps or object arround me). Put i think i want them more for listen to music. Im not sure what i want.
At the beginning i just want better sound on my PC but i think i should first find out for what.
I read the DT990 Pro are good allrounder and the K702 have more spatiality. So maybe the DT990 Pro are better for me ? I dont know… Find it hard to figure out.

I would say the dt 880 250ohm is the best combo for music and gaming from beyerdynamic. You could also consider the hd58x from massdrop, as it’s also great for multi use headphones. And for the best bang for the buck, just get a fiio k5 pro and you should be :+1:

These headphones are excellent for the price and have been that way for awhile. The 880 has a more neutral sound with good imaging and soundstage. The 990 is pretty nice for gaming but might be a bit too bright for some, and the 880 is a more balanced sound. The hd58x is a warmer sound also with good imaging for games. Both are great for multipurpose.

The K5 Pro has more then enough power and is an all in one unit with great value that will be able to power these headphones no problem

Thank you this helps me a lot.
I think i will be the 880.

Be aware that the 880 has an attached cable. and those are things of the devil. But other then that I have heard nothing but good things about it.

Thats true, but I don’t think its horrible. If you are concerned about the cable, the 58x might be a better choice

Yeah I noticed but I read some reviews. And many sad they had them over years and nothing broke. I think I’ll risk it.

The dt series are also easy to fix on your own, so that’s a bonus, there is alot of info on them

I have another question. What’s the difference between the 3 880 with 32Ohm/250Ohm/600Ohm?
I know that I need a better Amp to power them but why I should take the 600 when it is easier to power the 32 ones?

The 32 ohm and 80 ohm versions are slightly less detailed and are more boosted in the bass, the higher ohm 250 and 600 ohm versions have the ability to be more detailed and are more refined then the 32 and 80 ohm versions

Get it ty. Aren’t then the 600Ohm the ‘‘best’’?

Yes, but they are also the hardest to drive. I recommend them if someone plans to run them on an amp all the time. I also just realized that I put 250 ohm up there instead of 600, yes go for the 600 ohm

In this case is the K5 Pro still enough for the 600Ohm?

Yes, it puts out plenty of power. You just most likely will not have a satisfactory experience out of a phone is the only downside of a high impedance can like that. The K5 Pro is more then plenty

Okay sounds good. I will only use them on my PC so it is not a big deal ^^
