Hello everyone, I have a modius and magnius I bought back in 2021 powering a pair of Focal Elex. This happens to be my daily driver setup and is used 90% of the time for everything from music, movies, streaming, gaming. I have been having issues with my dac/amp that I can’t seem to fix or explain so I think it’s time for a new setup.
I know there are combo units now as opposed to individual units; looking for recommendations on what to replace this setup with
Budget- $350 US
Have you reached out to Schitt? I’d bet they’d go through them and fix whatever is out of spec.
What issues are you encountering? I googled and I am looking at the circuit boards for the Modius and the Magnius. The only thing which stands out as mechanical failure points are the the small white relays which are used to prevent hearing “thumps” when powering up the Modius and the Magnius or when plugging in headphone cables.
I have not yet i figured since they are so old and no longer in production wasn’t worth my time
I get some static screeching sound about once a week and the only fix is to unplug everything and plug it back in and sometimes my sound just stops working all together
The relays may have some near microscopic metal flakes. Try strongly tapping top of the products with a pen several times and then power up.
Update- after trying the suggested method no luck it’s still happening this problem is very random so I was giving it a few days to see if it would happen again before I posted a reply update. Thank you for your help though
