I’m looking for a high end headphone I can use everyday throughout the day.
at work (listening to music 4-8 hours a day(techno, rock))
at home (gaming 3hours+ a day)
(movies 1 hour a day)
(making my own music when I’m in the mood(techno))
I love how the DT1990 look and watched and read a lot of reviews about how they sound etc.
I noticed they are quite exhausting to listen to.
So I guess it wouldn’t be the best choice for my day to day activities?
Should I still go for the DT1990 or something more warm like the sennheiser HD660?
I’m still using my 8 year old sennheiser HD215 which I used daily.
It was hard for me to use the 1990 as a day to day headphone. Not that it couldn’t be done and I’m sure finding the right pads and putting out more effort to make them work I could have.
I just found other headphones to be more of what I was looking for. If I only listened to the 1990, I found it to be fine, it was just when I switch to something else that I could hear a huge difference and always found a different headphone more pleasant. When I switched to the 1990, it took me a while to adjust. That my experience with it when I tried it out for about 3 or so weeks.
Though with techno and gaming, it might be a good match, and probably worth trying out the different pads (it comes with 2 sets). I absolutely loved gaming with them.
In the price range of the 1990, I personally would prefer the elex for day to day imo. Gaming is awesome in the 1990 tho, pretty amazing for the price
I feel like if he enjoys the senn sound, the elex could be a very viable alternative for him. I personally think I could use the 1990 all day, but I do know some couldn’t (as you mention lol)
