I’ll start off by saying I currently have NOTHING. I’m using the buds that came with my phone plugged into my motherboard as well as my monitor’s speakers. It’s awful. Anyway, I have some parts lined up and I want to do a sanity check and possibly get some recommendations/suggestions. The main things I’m looking at are the Micca OriGen G2, OriGain, COVO-S speakers, and Sennheiser HD 58X headphones. My main concern is preserving desk space, which is why I’m looking at the COVO-S, because I only use speakers when I’m watching YouTube. I like the Micca aesthetic, but I’m wondering if there’s a single device that can do everything. I need usb input for my pc and optical for my PS5, while powering both speakers and headphones. I was considering the Loxjie A30 or SMSL AD18, but the headphones amps in those seem underpowered for the HD 58X. Are the parts I’ve picked out logical and usable together, or is there anything else I should consider?
Seems like you’ve got yourself some great synergies. The 58x doesn’t need much power its 150 ohms but it has a very high sensitivity. Also good pick for a first headphone.
In regards to the amps the Loxjie while I don’t personally own one looks like the perfect fit. small, does everything you need. Looks really good In future down the line I’d consider some tubes to add some further depth to that sound. But looks like you’ve done a great job.
Welcome to Hifi guides
Welcome. I started similarly to what you’re planning with a 58x and Origen G2. I then moved to a Topping MX3 for a desktop all-in-one, which served me well for close to a year before doing some significant upgrading. The MX3 had plenty of power for the 58X, which is pretty forgiving of source. MX3 I thought also sounded good through speakers. The one drawback is that the MX3 does not have a pre/line out if you wanted to run it to powered speakers or another amp without effectively double amping.
