Desktop Speaker Options (Used, UK) £100

Hey Guys,

Bit of a follow up post after M0N helped me out with deciding on a stack. Though a new topic here would be right. Topping E30 and PA3 for the speakers. Budget £100 or so.

I’m looking for a pair of small passives for use on my computer desk. I play games, Youtube, music etc. Music wise I like a lot of country, piano, violin, female vocals. My desk is pretty close to a wall, so I might be able to get 15-20cm of breathing rooms or so, don’t know how that plays into it.

Looking to buy used, here in the UK we have a lot of wharfedale and such on ebay. Some things I’ve been looking at.

CA SX-50: This is what I’ve been looking at primarily, Love the look, and hear good things
Wharfedale Diamond 220
Wharfedale Diamond 9.0
Wharfedale Diamond 10.0

My heart is not set on anything at the moment, these just seem to fit the bill.

Great help if anyone can give me any guidance, not heard any of these in person. If anyone has any suggestions for the UK used market would be really helpful.

I have a set of the Wharfedale Diamonds 10.1 on my secondary system and like them a lot… a very good sounding bang for the buck speaker., but feel they would be too large for a desk setup. I believe the 10.0 has similar dimensions, if not the same. I am not familiar with the 9.0 or the 220 but was looking at the dimensions. The 9.0 is the smallest of the three and would work depending on the size of the desk… the size of the 220 would definitely need a large desk.

Yeah just looking for something for up close listening so does not need to fill a large space. Heard good things about the Q Acoustics 3020 and such.

Are the Micca RB42 available and in budget where you are?

Not really I fear. One or two sellers, the the mark up is quite high, about £90-£100.
