What about stop signs?
They have more DAKKA too.
they make you stop fast!
paint some BOYZ red for the boss
you see them faster tahn the blue ones, that’s fact!
Im pretty sure you know how to search the information.
There are actual studies, books and plenty of information. Even the more modern Youtube videos.
Try “color psychology” as example
“color was being used for centuries as a method of treatment as early as 2000 BC”
“When color is transmitted from the eye to the brain, the brain releases a hormone affecting the emotions, mind clarity and energy levels”
So just by color. One cable might be better than the other cause it makes you feel better.
Feeling better then you add the feeling of material.
Add to those good feelings the actual music.
It will most likely sound better if it looks bettter and feels better.
Back to the actual cables. Please continue and sorry for the fewcents.
Hi,
This is an interesting theory, but there’s a big leap from “colors make people feel differently” to “the color of a cable makes people perceive the sound of their audio systems differently”. I would want evidence of the second claim. Has anyone done a test where they took two of the same cable, put different colors on their outsides, and had people perceive them sounding differently? Of course the problem with this test is that it doesn’t rule out unit variation. Maybe instead you could take the same cable and resleeve it and then play the same music for people again.
Edit: I could also think of tests where you just have someone blind describe how they think a system sounds as you change the cables, and then take the blindfold off and show them the cables and ask them how it sounds to them now (with the cables in a random order each time of course).
Though this goes back to what I was saying originally that no one has studied any of this stuff in a way that would pass muster in an academic, peer-reviewed study, and so you inevitably run into issues regarding sample size, sample selection, and methodology.
there’s been tons of studies done. science says for the most part no difference. ears for some say otherwise. this will always be a debate with no resolution. just like neutral vs colored. very few change sides. sick back and enjoy what ya like.
also i dont need a study to tell me that for the majority of people aesthetics mean more then function. liking something better doesnt inherently make it better. it does mean you will enjoy it more.
edit: as a side note for me personally. i use a couple audioquest usb cables. no clue if they function better then a standard usb cable as i have never tried one with my audio gear. i bought it strickly because it matched my desk setup. and i 100% prefer it over any other usb cable and enjoy my setup more because of it.
In short: different cables really do make a different sound. But that doesn’t mean you’ll like the sound better with the new cable!
Where? Please provide me with sources, I’d love to see them.
Oh my goodness, what have I blundered innocently into? o_o I demand extensive blind testing, and pizza! There must be pizza!
We’ll have to wear blindfolds and abx the pizza otherwise we can’t be sure we know how it tastes…
But is it the pizza with pineapple or without will the nutrition table tell us or do we have to do a spectroscopic analysis to be sure
Thin crust, extra sauce, mozzarella cheese, bacon, jalapeno peppers, pineapple, and cheddar cheese.
- The jalapeno peppers help balance out the sweetness from the pineapple, and adds a bit of a kick to the taste.
- The bacon and chedder cheese add more savory and meat flavor.
- The thin crust makes the pizza crispy but not so heavy that it overwhelms the toppings with too much bread.
- Finally the extra sauce keeps it from being too dry and adds a bit of extra tomato flavor, which I have found goes well with the rest of the ingredients.
- Ham or pepperoni may be substituted in for the bacon depending on how you feel at the time of order. But never have more than 1 meat at a time on this particular pizza or it will overwhelm the other ingredients.
This is one of my personal favorites when it comes to pizza. But as it technically has 4 separate toppings, it bumps the price a bit above the typical pizza.
This would be the best pizza to accompany this particular cable sound test imho It would introduce something new which most people have not had before, and this would distract the listener from the type of cable being tested, and therefore give a more balanced result to the data obtained from the study.
This is the way. Sweet, Spicy and Savory.
I usually do Pepperoni instead of bacon, but like you say, it suits to mood.
This is just heartburn on bread. This is the food equivalent of the HD800S and I’m treble sensitive…
That is FANTASTIC!!! I love it!
I won’t buy it, but the person who wrote that is a treasure
I think cable manufacturers (and some cable reviewers) with all their ridiculous exaggerated statements on the influence of the cable on sound (which is - if any at all - rather on the subtle side) make the rational “scientific” discussion on the topic even less possible to happen
