Discussion on VU Table and Audio Source Switcher

Hello everyone, we are the Fosi Audio team. We are currently researching the product line of VU meters and switches. We have preliminarily defined the functions and interfaces of the product. Now we would like to see if you have any other requirements. We hope to discuss with you:

  1. Input: USB x 1/CAOX x 1/OPT x 1/RCA x 1/(XLR x 1);
  2. Output: RCA x 2/OPT x 2/COAX x x 1/(XLR x 1);
  3. We temporarily plan to not include DAC and ADC functions. The following is the connectivity status of the product interface:
    USB input - OPT or COAX output;
    OAX input - OAX output;
    OPT input - OPT output;
    RCA input - RCA output;
    XLR input - XLR output;
  4. The sensitivity of the VU meter pointer is adjustable (it can adapt to different signal sizes within a relatively suitable jumping range);
  5. Supports multiple backlight colors to choose from;
  6. Ergonomic design with a 15 ° tilt of the front panel (optimal alignment for observation);

We are currently considering the XLR interface. Below is a sketch of the product, just to see if the number of interfaces is appropriate. The specific ID may differ greatly from this;
Let’s see if you have any other suggestions:

Just cosmetics, if it was matte black and the display font was larger to be easier to read. A font like Tahoma or Eurostile Extended would look good. Balanced connectors probably wouldn’t help since most people with these use their XLR and have the RCA outputs free. A knob to adjust DPLL timing if syncing the clock is an issue that affects it.

Thank you very much for your suggestion. Regarding the appearance, we will redesign it later. For now, we are only looking at the approximate number of interfaces and other information. Regarding the XLR interface issue, do you mean that customers who like to use balanced interfaces will directly use connectors that are all XLR or similar balanced interfaces?
