I have an emotiva a-100 in monster drive mode (with the jumpers installed) and a Sanskrit 10 dac. Is it better to just be careful with the pot or just crank it up maximum and lower the gain with the dac because I’m afraid to damage my headphones (sennheiser hd650) by overpowering them. When I listen to the speakers I just max the amp and use the dac remote from my couch (1 I’m lazy 2 i don’t fear overpowering them)
Lowering the gain of the dac would allow you more volume range, and be the better choice imo
