Dom Q’s spot (Recap of CanJam NYC and other things)

The below average isolation of those bullet shaped Sony iems are kinda set in stone, even if you used foam tips it wont help too much compared to a “ciem” shell that naturally has a lot better isolation.

Trying some different tips tonight with the Symphonium Titan. Couple more kits I wanted to try came in today. First ones I grabbed from this round were the JVC Spiral Dot Pros EP-FX12.

These tips are working better than anything else I’ve tried so far. Going to leave them in for the night and see but so far got a decent seal on first insertion without having to reposition trying to get that lucky spot that then fails the first time you move your head, they’re staying put and comfort so far is good.
The sound is good and what you expect from the Titans, thumpy and deep extension with great sub-bass presence mids are well mids a little softer than with some other sets but not lame by any means, treble is smooth and nice and overall timbre is natural/organic.

I’ll run with these for while before trying some others. I got some Spiral Dot ++ EP-FX10 in too along with some SonicFoams that look really interesting.

Duuuuuude - thanks for this tip! Pun fully intended.

I saw these tips posted on a facebook group earlier today and It Piqued my interest.

JVC is a Japanese brand, so if it is on Ali, high risk of it being fake.

Understood! Thanks for the knowledge, I didn’t know that honestly.

Be aware of buying “Sony” tips on Ali, there are TONS of fakes of those out there. Even if they sell at a similar price to the original found on amazon jp (like 3 usd/pack).
(referring to the EP-EX11)

Have not heard anything about JVC tips specifically though.

Don’t get that one!

This one’s still available for $190.

Ok weird thing - both sellers’ profiles say they’re from Australia :man_shrugging:

Do you have a cable you rec for Sony A3?

Both are a steal! (I paid 400 usd for mine ffs.)

But neither have a pic that shows the nozzle with the foam, that is what you want to know, depending on how it looks you can tell how much it has been used (if the foam is totally disintegrated or not).

I still got the stock cable on mine. Forgot if its a regular mmcx or not as well, the Z5 has a regular mmcx at least but the A3 came from a time closer to the ex800st which has their own proprietary cable.

The A3 does have the proprietary cable which I don’t love.

aa yeah that is a shame. The stock cable on it is better than the one in the EX800st/1000 at least.

I feel like there’s been waaaay too much fighting and bickering going on in the forums lately. It’s probably due to a multitude of reasons. I know the world is a stressful place right now, but let’s all try to remember why we frequent these forums in the first place.

We’re one big group of total strangers, scattered all around the world and regardless of color, race, religion or skin color, we’re all brought together for the soul purpose of finding the absolute best gear to experience music .

It’s the one true universal language in the world. So I want to get everyone’s input;

What is one album, it could be new or old, that sounds amazing regardless of the gear you’re using?

I’ll go first.

daft punk - Random Access Memories

The robots took such amazing care with the production and mastering of this beautiful piece of art and it shows.

What is everyone else’s pick?

For near a decade now it has been any of Stick Figure releases.

For a classic I gotta go with Bob Marley

Uprising is my favorite album if you don’t count Legends

This is always my go to when I get new gear (or to grow my appreciation of what I have). There are so many songs or moments on this album that I crave to hear how they sound.
