Don't care about home theater audio?

It never stops lol. I am scared to get a quote for how much it will actually cost for the studio (the building portion of it)

Speaking as a film guy it’s a major goal long term to get as close to theater quality as possible.

Would be beneficial for your work as well too, it’s a win win for both pleasure and work lol

Yeah. It’s a lot of good research for both my writing and storyboard stuff. I plan on building a dedicated theater room with an LG ultra short throw sometime in the future.
Mind you not with those obnoxious theatre seats.
Ultra comfy couch for the win

Allot of the cost is in the construction phase of the work, my neighbor finished out his whole basement, to include plumbing, tile work, additional HVAC, upgraded electrical, upgraded entry and yardwork, doors, windows, ceiling blah blah blah. I’m pretty sure half the cost of his “HT” was all the contracting, work. He did NONE of it himself so I’m also sure the company that actually installed the HT charged a very pretty penny for the labor. His components honestly to include speakers and amplifiers are no more than $15k, I know the projector and screen cost a bunch on top of that. Nothing in the system is truly audiophile quality and there really isn’t anything that impressive bass wise, pair of 15’s i believe. Also the company automated everything so he can dim all the lights And control all the equipment off of what is now an old apple tablet, its all about 10years old already. Again, keeping up with technology can be a bitch.
It does look good though, not like my sloppy thrown together mish mash of gear on used Ikea furniture :joy::crazy_face::joy:

And yeah damnnnnn that’s crazy. 15k of equipment the rest just the building. Feels like he should might as well waste it all on the actual system.

Because integrating it all and making a proper space for it costs allot of money. Most people really don’t want a home theater styled room in place of their living room or dining room😂

I got to wonder, can you make your own PC as a Home Theater Audio as well? It seems that words Home Theater only to be associated with large TVs with good quality brands of surround speakers.

Source device usually ain’t issue, pick ur poison as to say.
Material or audio can be played/send in many ways to the actual surround system.
Could also argue that “display device” ain’t part of it.
Can send or use audio and picture in many ways.

Yep. You can hook a pc up to a home theater reciever via optical or coax

I always love to watch a movie or tv show that I am interested in or care about with a good audio setup. Especially movies where sound is important and they have really good sound mixing, i.e. Dunkirk, Baby Driver. It really makes the whole experience for me. That is one reason I love going to the theater to watch something, especially IMAX. Tbh if I had to choose between watching on a really nice TV with a cheap speaker, or on a phone with some nice headphones like my Nighthawk Carbon, I would go with the latter basically every time, unless sound is extremely unimportant and the visuals are more important, nature documentary for example.
