Soundwise they are really good. Not perfect for me personally, but rather close. It’s like slightly more shouty, but less zingy and piercing version of 64Audio U4S, and i definitely like that.
I think this price segment is definitely not about sound value for money. I haven’t heard anything overall more issueless than Mega5est ($549), and in terms of making me happy they are close to Soratune YI01 ($69), and those are not that far from Zero 2/Chu2 (~$20).
Alter Ego have miles fancier shells though

Yea I suppose if one can shell out that much, you arent really looking at bang for your buck stuff.
Right, yea I am not that big a fan of anything much zingy or piercing. But yea the shells are pretty enchanting to me! 
I’ve noticed a trend, i am really liking these plain/brushed metal finishes. I find them quite pleasing to look at…easy on the eye i suppose?
Woww! It really is elegant! The bentley-esque logo goes well with this kind of finish.

For something as cheap (in price) as the KZ castor they def look and feel like a $400+ IEM. No cap lol
