Is that a shanling? I currently use my phone with a dac but have been debating if I should get a dap. Shanling and m300 by hiby have been getting my attention based on portability and price. lots of options.
It is, a M0 pro. In the last few weeks I moved from a (all Shanling models) M5 Ultra (thing of beauty, but large), M1 Plus (great buttons that M5 Ultra has, and sweet spot for size if you plan to navigate local library much) to M0 Pro.
I’m essentially using it as a BT receiver like a Qudelix, but it has local files if I want something or can just shuffle them. It boots right away, and connects to BT right away if that’s how I last used it. Interface is as functional as a screen this size possibly could be, certainly enough for when I am listening locally, but would be annoying if I was most often listening to local files.
Hiby players wouldn’t keep AAC when connecting to my phone, kept defaulting to SBC. I think that’s a pretty big problem but they don’t seem to care. Their loss.
The original M0 was my first DAP (listened to ER2XR and E4000 on it) so some nostalgia here.
Very very happy with the sound though, not “slumming it” for the sake of portability by any means.
Forgive any typos, written in haste!
Good to know. Never thought about using it the way you explained! Appreciate the info!
I bought them off you lol. I generally use foam tips. That may dampen the treble or I may not be as sensitive as you.
The M1 Plus from Shanling is still my budget winner love that little guy!
Man I was and still am looking into that one as well. Pretty much the same price as the m300. My only concern is that I can’t use android apps I think like neutron or UAPP. On my phone I have used those two apps because they allow you to peq. I on occasion like to do that. Especially after I saw people talking on here how you could peq a budget iem and get it to sound better than the deuce.
in that case you can pair it up with the Fiio Ja11 dongle, which has PEQ access via web app (so set the peq via a phone/pc first) that is saved to memory then use it with the M1 Plus (or another tiny-dap).
Sound awesome on the KAEI TAP1 at 75% power thats the highest ive ever reached with any iem.
Thanks brother. Never knew about that. Does it save only one peq? Or a few? If it’s more than one how would you switch between them?
Just one. If you want to change it you need to use the web app or the android app.
Very nice snaps for very good looking buds and cable.
Sounds like a Grindcore band
A great set that really shines on Nutube or hybrid sources
I also do enjoy it quite a bit. Don´t have any tubes to test though
I’ve heard excellent things about these, actually. Not to mention those faceplates are quite striking…
