the 1-2.5k dip is weird, could that be a stock pad thing?
weird dip in the bassā¦ massive drop off there at the treble. looking more and more like I wont be interested in this one.
I was contacted by Drop and told I will receive a review unit within the next couple weeks or so. Could be longer.
Iāve been ordering and recording playback of a bunch of Sennheiser headphones just in preparation for the 8XX. Iām going to do a big showdown and comparison of all of them, with sound demos.
I already have the 800S and put them at the top of my ranks. Really suits my tastes very nicely. So Iām excited to see what theyāve done to this 8XX actually.

This headphone is looking like a real shitshow. I wish they would have done a real retune instead of what they did. 800s didnāt deserve this treatment.

I joined the Drop. I think Crinacleās video is funny but itās nothing but entertainment value for me, and DMSās ears arenāt the same as mine, so Iām not the least bit worried about their searing reviews.

You are right! I used to have a t1.3nd it was a really dark headphone like DMS said.
After I get used to it, I like how everything hits with authority. I sold it because I bought it used and was not in ānewā shape

I mean you donāt even need to trust DMS or crinacles ears, you can see the big hole in the FR graph lol

I donāt care about holes detected by measurement rigs. Thereās literally been zero times an FR graph has given me audio bliss or anxiety, lol. I will judge the headphones with my ears and determine if the graph hole corresponds to audio grief to my ears or merely a different tuning that I enjoy. 
I recall reading you have never lusted after the 800 series ā but Iām the opposite, itās always been on my radar, so I decided to take the final plunge.
