Exactly right. Hd 201 (or any other in the affordable series): great headphone. Beats: Sheeeeeeeeet!!!

Lol, thatā€™s called a personal opinion. Everyone got different ears. More money for him if he canā€™t tell the difference between Beats EP and HD6XX :man_shrugging:

Without being rude, Iā€™d suggest a hearing test for him, thoughā€¦

For that effect, I love the quote ā€œeverything in audio is subtle and not worth it.ā€ :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, I think everyone can agree with thisā€¦ ā€œNo replacement for displacementā€.

They seem to have gone for backing campaign number 2 since exceeding a million doesnā€™t seem sufficientā€¦

I canā€™t wait for the mess that is the release period

I recently picked up the Amiron Wireless to listen around the house when iā€™m not sitting at my listening station. Do you guys think the Panda is worth looking into or are they too similar to justify the price?

Not many know until release they are still adding features

Just something to to keep in mindā€¦

Did Pozible provide that graph by chance? Just checkingā€¦ Lol

But also keep in mind its massdrop who has a proven record of delivering products many indie go campaigns are just got garbage or Impossible to make

Indiegogo typically does have a low barrier to start a campaign, that is a big part of it. You donā€™t even need a prototype. But with Massdrop is at with the development of the Panda, they would have also qualified for Kickstarter for sureā€¦

Absolutely, just trying to temper expectations a bit. Crowdfunded audio projects that garnered a huge hype train recently were mediocre at best and a large amount of people were let down. If anybody is interested in the drop, do your homework and make sure it is something that fits your use case. Best advice I can give.

No, it was from a business website.

To be honest, Kickstarter and Indiegogo are the only two Iā€™ve heard about.

Just got an email from Drop advertising some updates for the Panda:

  • Additional headphone padding: updated headband with additional padding to widen the range of comfortable seating positions (I seem to recall one Joshua Valour complaining about this specifically)
  • USB-C Audio & Faster Startup: listen and charge over USB-C from Mac/PC/iPad/Android + faster power -on time and fine-tuned interface timing based on community feedback (Interesting)
  • IPX4 water resistance: Panda is now IPX4 water-resistant, which means itā€™s certified to ā€œprotect from splashing water, no matter the direction.ā€* No more worrying about a rainy commute, or sweating a little sweat.
  • Extended Panda campaign thanks to overwhelmingly positive reception. New batch of units available @ $349 (shipping last).

This is almost verbatim from the email, so take it with however much salt you feel is needed.
*Hereā€™s the IP Rating Chart as provided by DSM&T for those who would like a better understanding of that these ratings actually means:

Like thatā€™s maybe giving them a bit too much credit. Saying they ā€œlistened to the communityā€ when they requested a shorter start up time is BS. The product had a fundamental flaw that needed fixing to bring it on par with Beats in this regard.

There is a reason Kickfarter and IndieNoGo are sometimes refered to as suchā€¦

I wasnā€™t even giving that much credit. I would be much more impressed if they let you replace the battery. Then thatā€™s when I really pay attention cause that is my biggest concern with Bluetooth daily driver headphones and basically determine the life cycle of the thing
