Does anyone else find tips that offer the best sound don’t necessary offer the best sound isolation?

Yep. Mostly with the Fh5, I got good fitting with the large bass tips, but alas, no bass… Pardon the pun.
I’ve ran into this a few times, I finally just settled on tips that offer a more rubbery feel but are memory foam. Ones like these.
Now on the odd side of things I do have a pair of Galaxy Buds (got them for free with my phone) and they sound like poo unless you get a good seal with memory foam, which the choices are make your own or order comply tips. I rotate between the two because the comply tips kinda hurt my ears, but they’re great for working out with.
