Enhanced with Knowles acoustic dampers, the 3-way crossover achieves higher precision and cleaner frequency control. Each band is finely tuned to reduce unwanted artifacts and ensure smooth, interference-free transitions between lows, mids, and highs. The result is a highly coherent sound with strong clarity and resolution, while maintaining BA speed without sounding sharp or unnatural.

New Rear Venting System for improved bass and staging
In multi-driver IEMs, rear chamber airflow plays a key role in bass texture, soundstage, and overall clarity. With this in mind, EPZ developed a new rear venting system for the 550, optimizing airflow to reduce unwanted resonance and improve acoustic control. This results in deeper, more natural bass, a wider and more open soundstage, and a cleaner overall presentation, while also improving pressure balance for more comfortable long listening sessions.
Full metal shell, precision CNC- machined
The shell is milled from a solid metal block using high-precision CNC machining, offering excellent structural rigidity. Compared to typical resin shells, this helps minimize unwanted resonance and contributes to a cleaner background with better overall clarity.
Ultra-compact shell design, Maximum space utilization
Despite housing a 5-driver configuration, the internal structure has been carefully optimized to maximize space efficiency and keep the shell compact. This results in a comfortable, ergonomic fit with minimal pressure, making it suitable for extended listening sessions.
High-purity 4-core 6N OCC silver-plated copper cable
High-purity 6N single-crystal copper ensures low-loss signal transmission, while silver plating enhances treble extension and overall resolution. The stock cable further unlocks the 550’s naturally clean tuning, delivering tighter, more solid bass and improved vocal transparency in the mids.
