I tried both r2 and r3. Great sound. But the equaliser needs to be changed. The mseb is a waste of time. You change one and then the other and everything goes back to same. Makes no sense. You add drums and changes the mids. You place less warm and the drums goes back to normal. Very chinese software. And the eq. I add bass and then changes the mids and the volume drops like hell. Worst eq in history of mp3 players. They should fire the person created this eq. Sony players eq are perfect. They should learn from Japanese technology
I dont think origin of country has anything to do with it. It is just how they want to attack it. Mseb is not an eq. It shapes the sound by adjusting everything not just 1 band of the eq. It is best used extremely conservatively as on my R6 2020 i never went over 15 points.
I give MSEB points for uniqueness. Used sparingly I’ve gotten some good results on the R5. But in general I leave it off. My main complaint is lack of documentation - what exactly is each slider changing? Help me, help myself! I want to use it, but I struggle to consistently get what I expect from each slider.
i will not agree with you, the mseb is the same as the eq, no difference, just more bands working in the same time. and to be honest its total crap I don’t get it how you say that, for example, you want bass, you add more bass extension, and then you will notice that not only the bass changed, but the mids they change the sound too, so you move the warm to crisp to get the same mids, and then the bass is gone again, if you dod not do the test please do. the mseb is good for people that has no idea about audio files and sound. simple
is not an eq, qhat is then, please explain to me, are you an audio engineer? so placing 1k and 3k in a slide and called it crispy is not an eq. lol try to move some things buddy, you move bass and the mids change too, then you remove warm from mids because you want the same as before and the bass is gone again, I am surprised if people they use this and more surprised if they don’t know the difference , all we want is an eq, simple eq that does not affect other bands on the eq and does not affect the volume, this one does affect everything and badly, sony nw series players eq, perfect, does not change any volume or affect other bands, hiby eq is worst than the Samsung phone eq to be honest and then we have people that has no idea about audio placing comments that its good, really. maybe you should learn about audio file bro, and yes, very Chinese to add extra crap that professional brands don’t, keep your kz and hiby, for me their history, I will move to other brands for pro people that knows what I am talking,
Its not an eq where you control 1 band at a time. It is DSP that changes a few things to shape the sound towards the description it gives. If that is just frequency response or also the attack etc i do not know.
I did a quick review of my R6 on these forums where I described that when i went to add to the highs, it felt like the 200-350hz range had something taken away from it.
When used conservatively it is ok. Anything more and youre kind of molding the dough too much.
If you want a good EQ buy a dap that is known for it like Cowon, or if its an android player, there are some great EQs/PEQs on the google store.
if you control even 2 bands at the same time,in the end of the days, its an eq. and yes, you see my point, I just wish that they could update the eq, that’s all I ask, so I could have an eq like the sony player, you need to listen to that eq, you add bass and no change in volume or other frequencies, and never gets blurred , its the best, they did a good job, but then the volume is not great and the sound without eq is worst than the hiby, just the eq they could give us an update, they told me that is only me complaining. lol. and yes buddy, I saw the cowon, they not cheap. but I may get one.
Look at the Plenue D2 if you can find it sub $300 used. Or the plenue D3 is ~$350. Basically the same player.
