Expensive Comfortable Open Backs

Do you want the Autuers the most?

Hmm… good question. They certainly look beautiful. That’s what drew me to them lol.
As of now I have Audioquest Nighthawk Carbon and KPH30i. The headphones I have tried are ranked as follows disregarding price:
Audioquest Nighthawk Carbon
1More Triple Driver “Over-Ear”
Sennheiser HD6XX
Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 250 ohm
Koss KPH30i
Sennheiser Momentum original
DT 770 Pro 80 ohm

I tend to like V shaped sound signatures with really wide soundstage. But I do appreciate things like the HD6XX for its detail and warmth. I imagine the HD600 would be even better at detail. The Nighthawk are special to me though because they have a very unique sound. It is really hard to describe them. Super wide and good bass with good treble detail, yet not harsh and recessed somehow? Midrange is decent too. The imaging is really strange and almost 3D in way, with sounds coming from different places. I don’t know they are just different, and I love them.

I think the Autuer leans towards warmth. When Zeos gave his review he said somethings about them I didn’t agree with. Resolve Reviews has a better break down of that headphone. Out of your list the closes is when I had hd650 which is a great headphone.

Their website says it has good extension into the sub bass, and I love good sub bass.
Yeah the HD6XX is just the massdrop version of the HD650 from what I hear.

Aspen, if price isn’t an issue, you shouldn’t just consider open back headphones like the Stellia have a very wide sound stage, despite being closed back.

Stealing someone else’s words, the stellia sounds brown. I would try that one first

sounds Brown? how would the Utopia, Clear and Elex sound in comparison? LoL!

Like a coherent sound signature lol

jesus chrsit! can i come over? :flushed:

i got a suggestion, will you adopt me :exploding_head:

lol. 20 characters…

If anyone lives near NJ I let them come listen but it have to be when the wife isn’t around.

only when he wife isn’t around? means she doesn’t know you have them…or how much you spent on them?

same goes for the firearm or optics hobbies, LoL!

you got me. My wife doesn’t know the real price. Good thing about the headphones is they take on a weird shape so she can’t remember one from the other. I thought the Abyss would have given me in but the Empyrean stick out in it’s own way.

The rule of one. Only one headphone at a time. Plus keeping them in their respected containers keeps them clean. The other issue is 3 crazy kids. I’m hoping

I got the lcd 4 and I like the tuning. Bass is phenomenal. It does push the detail into your head but I’m liking it. This fits the bill as my other headphones are laid back in comparison. So only one more headphone too get and my collection is complete.

Nice, well that’s good you enjoy it :+1:

IMO more bass than the 007/009.

We all hear differently, but these would be awesome if you like the Grado sound:

They have the big G-cush pads for comfort. If that wasn’t enough you could order some Beautiful Audio earpads from New Zeland. Like having little pillows on your ears and does not hurt the sound. I can now wear my GH2’s all day long in comfort.

I am thinking I may end up with these one day. But they are very expensive (for me) at about $2,500.00 in Canada, plus tax. On the upside the cocobolo cups are beautiful and you can drive them off of anything, including your phone.
