Expensive Comfortable Open Backs

Anyways I think swapping the pads too different side might have worked.

On other note looking at the SR1a and Vidar amp as thats what Danny uses over at Requisite. Just gotta wait for the money.

I have the Diana v2 and they are not cheap feeling but are comfy.

Yeah very solid and actually portable

M0N said you have some Empyreans how would you compare the build vs DianaV2?

Three of my favorite setups. The 1266 is on my head and rest are stored in their cases.

The build of both are equal. Comfort is up in the air. Sound goes to Diana but if the music is edm then its Empyrean all the way. You just get more low end and kick with Empyrean. Though i say thisvthe Diana still hits low not as loud.

What do you think you would say is the better all rounder (as in you could only have one or the other, because for me it would be the abyss). Also with a wide variety of music

Also since I like the diana v2 so much I should just pick up a pair lol (which I am going to do right now lol, I will find something to sell later)

Mine would be the 1266 if I could only pick one.

Well I understand but I meant between the meze and the diana v2 (as I don’t know if aspen is looking into the 1266)

Thats a tough one. But if I must it would be Diana v2. It has more resolution and it isn’t dark sounding like the Empyrean.

I’m with ya personally on that one :+1:

I thought you made your last purchase for the year? Also I am not lookin in to the 1266. Diana v2 im still on the fence about I would need to wear them and feel them to be confident that what I am getting is worth it. Are the V2 amp picky?

Moreso than the meze imo but not to a huge issue point of view. Just make sure it’s a quality piece and you should be fine. I do think it’s worth it because I just broke my rule and bought a pair lol. Now to go find something to sell

I believe the Diana v2 got a little more low end with a couple hours on them. Also they don’t seem to leak as much as other open backs which makes them great for trips.

Would you also say they are still fairly open sounding as well? They don’t leak as much because it’s kinda a more intimate experience and you don’t have to push the drivers as hard to get good sound

oh they are open sounding. I believe that the design was to make a portable open back you could wear on the bus. When Z did his review he took them outside and it was no issue.

Cool, just wanted to make sure the pair I heard wasn’t different or anything

I’m looking at SR1a as my final headphone or Susvara. But I’m digging the whole ribbon speaker design of SR1a.

I’m personally waiting for the HEDDphone as I think I will actually prefer it over the sr1a and you can drive it with a regular headphone amp. But it obviously isn’t going to be as speaker like as the raal (but I think it will be more fun as the raal). I liked the susvara alot, but decided to go higher in the hifiman lineup
