i honestly completely forgot about the hiss on andromedas
 they are virtually unusable on half of all gear

If you value accessories a lot, ChiFi probably is not the right place for you, outside of some outliers like Moondrop’s A8 ofc.
You’d have to stick with more boutique stuff like CA, JH, Noble and such.
Build ‘quality’ is really good on basically everything i have seen sofar (the ej07 ofc is an outlier again) but the Chinese stuff ala Fearless, bgvp, moondrop, etc. are just plastic/acrylic shells with drivers in them. Non of them feel cheap and all seem well built but its plastic afterall and not metal :slight_smile:

Even the budget iems like the guideray gri have great build and comfort imo, they are pretty solid, they have gotten down the shape and molding pretty well for most chifi

Yes I got the CA Polaris 2nd gen. They are really great, a lot of bass, but not too much and I am really satisfied with the choice.
I like the sound and the quality and the blue color is looking real nice. I can rec them as a mid tier IEM for fun listening.

I actually got them two months ago and I was going to recommend that one for your mid tier! I was pleasantly surprised at their performance, especially due to the mixed reviews. But I think they’re great! I recently got the Andromeda’s after the Polaris as well. They’re worth the hype if you’re still wondering about your big purchase. Still running some comparisons for the next few days, but I think they’re complimentary and there’s no redundancy in having both.

Congrats!
Please share your view on how they differ, it would be nice to hear in which way they can complement each-other. I really like the build quality and the cable too; for me it is the whole package that has to follow the price and be at the same level.
This is often why I back away from chifi IEM’s, they tend to not prioritize this with a design and quality to my liking.
Is it 1st or 2nd gen of Andomrda you have purchased?
