If itās still not working, try to get a return / exchange. (If you canāt do that, I have one Iām selling, happy to give you a really good price.)
It charges over the USB-C, and I actually plug my in once or twice a day for a while. I just have standard powered USB cables on my desk ( C and micro ). It doesnāt have enough power to get through the entire day. If you press the small round button, it should show the full display, if it is off that is just the power meter. I donāt recall it taking more than 30 minutes to fully charge.
I know there are some odd charging options on the app, but I almost never use it. I set it up once, and then almost never touch the app. My understanding is the app is horrible on iPhone.
It wasnāt like that the first few days , I didnāt charge it when I got it and it worked fine until it hit 2 bars on the charge then it started blinking and only turned on while charging it , could it really be defective
I tried plugging it into a power bank , then I unplugged it and it turn on it showed Bluetooth pairing , then I plugged it into my phone , I choose charge off but it kept charging , I kept unplugging and plugging and then it stopped charging , it may work now but can it fail another day , what I want to know is : is it really defective now ?
no way to know. if it can easily be exchanged from where you bought it I would do it. If you wait and it fails again later, itāll be harder to return / exchange then.
I noticed that my btr5 battery life was short and it was usually warm , so I tested it , I did 2h30min of continuous listening and it went from 100% to 20% , Iām using low gain , volume 37% , balanced output to a 2 pin 0.78 cable to bl05s iems plugged in to my iPhone listening to Apple Music lossless , and also noticed in a song that the sound was scratchy I unplugged and plugged and it came back to normal , i want to know if Iām using it correctly or not because i read on some forums a guy that was getting 2-3h of battery life was using it the wrong way and not using real balanced output because he plugged it to a pioneer sc-55 using an RCA cable
The reviews match my own experience. All of the reviews claim that on single ended it can get 9 hours of battery life, and on balanced I would expect about half of that, since you generate twice the output power. This is pretty much was I see, higher volumes draw more power, an so on. Per Fiio it should only take 90 minutes to charge from dead to 100%.
I typically charge mine in the morning and at lunch, and run balanced output ( nearly every IEM I use has a balanced cable ) for an average of 4-6 hours a day, but mostly at low volumes, and on LDAC or APTX.
I do occasionally use it in the evening with open back headphones, but then I normally run it over USB-C so it is getting power and at its best bit rates.
That sounds defective. Even at full power consumption using balanced output, it should be getting around 4.5 hours with a full charge, and 9 hours on single ended. I would return it.
Yet another problem with my btr5 : i was listening and the music was sped up and the voice became high pitched and it was skipping notes and the sound was scratchy , i unplugged it and plugged it yet another time and it came back to normal , do you think itās again the btr5 fault ?
Hi there !
Its my first post here so I hope I wont make many mistakes !
For sure I guess my question has been debated before but the forum is so big⦠And as a noob I dont know much where to askā¦
Im actually almost satisfied with my westone um20 pro / LG V30 tandem, but the phone is ending his life and I often have to manipulate my phone for my job or many reasons and get bored about cable.
Im a huge fan of heavy/extrĆŖme metal, HX hard/prog/stoner rock.
So Im asking myself : for 150e in France I can buy both this amp or a westone v2 Bluetooth ācableā .
As my music use is 100 % on this mobile setting and still as a nweebie, tell me if im right :
-the amp is perfect for good music no matter the Bt source (so I can buy even a crap but solid cheap phone for work), but another electronic stuff to load, carry etc
Or
-I keep buying an expensive good phone (v60 or the asus) and enjoy the simplicity of BT cable
