🔷 FiiO BTR7

The “volume not reflecting the hardware until you change volume” thing could typically be a “hardware not thought to be linked with software” thing. I guess the dev can’t do more than what they did, because they just can’t ask the hardware what is current volume is.

If you look at trn, tanchjim, Ifi,… They just didn’t grasp the importance of having a good app in a wireless situation. Fiio is more advanced in this regard, but they still miss the “Dev participating on designing the hardware” part.

Souncodre and sonoflow (for headphones) have understood and developed good apps, with Integrated EQ that the set can store and all those things.

Maybe that will come one day for fiio or other “traditional hardware audio makers”. And as we speak about hardware makers, Smsl, topping and those kind of company could gain a real edge by investing In “smart functionalities and app” . Managing your Dac parameters from an app (smartphone or pc wise), getting EQ function alitites would be a great 1st step IMHO. But they don’t seem to be ready for that kind of mentality.

glitches? personally I haven’t had any issues with either

Hi i just bought a fiio btr7 and i want to use it in my car the problem is i only have usb input in my car i dont have an aux input is there anyway around this sorry if this is a stupid question but ive tried everything🙅‍♂️

Welcome.

Unfortunately the BTR7 is wrong for You then. It can only receive music via USB or Bluetooth and give it out via 3.5 or 4.4mm. You could try something like this but chances are Your car radio can only read USB flash-drives.

The BTR5’s 3.5mm sounds fuzzy/low res cause they sacrificed it for the 2.5mm. Can I ask if BTR7’s 3.5mm is good quality? I need both balanced and unbalanced sounding good.

Btr7 has been great both outputs sound awesome

It is. Now can someone please tell me what is the fix for Japanese screens?

It sure is not as bad as you describe the BTR5’s.
Main distinction between 3.5 and 4.4 is power bandwidth. It’s clean!

Hi,

Helpful comments, thanks!

My problem with my BTR7 that wasn’t a problem with my BTR5 is the number of all Japanese language screens.

Only began after the 1.95 update.

Have you found a fix?

Cheers,
Clark

I meant Chinese, of course. Apologies!

I am trying to use the BRT7 to receive sound from my computer which has bluetooth so I can use wired headphone untethered. It only seems to have a DAC mode. I can pair it in Windows 10 but no option to connrct via Bluetooth. If I plug a usb cable into it the sound option then has a play through Fiio selection but the point is to NOT use it as a DAC and not be cabled to the computer.

either something wrong with your PC BT or BTR7
does the BTR7 say pairing when you have BT searching for devices? also try going to the connection settings and hitting add device sometimes things don’t pop up in the BT hidden icon

My laptop (win 10) sees the Fiio BTR7 and pairs, but no option to connect. When connected via usb cable the sound functions show a play back option for the Fiio which goes away when the cable is disconnected. So only as DAC, not BT.

you can try unpairing and re pair them, and make sure you have the latest drivers on your pc

in the BTR7 menu there is also a paired devices menu you can try to manually connect it by holding the middle button when hovering over the device you want

Yeah, not new to this. Paired unpaired repaired. Same. Can use as DAC only. BTR7 has two devices in list, a Fiio player and my phone but the player is off and shows not connected. Can only TWO devices be paired? Most Bluetooth allow up to seven. Your help is appreciated.

mine has 5 listed in the menu so shouldn’t be a problem, if you can connect to the other devices then it’s a problem with the PC’s BT
