As I mentioned above, I believe that amps should be able to adjust its power output depending on what you are connecting it to (a power safety mechanism). But not completely sure on that, but I wouldnt worry about it, as I never seen anyone report that their amp killed their iem lol.
"Both channel imbalances happened during break-in. "
Did you get channel imbalance on your replacement IT00 too???
I wouldnāt worry about it, especially while listening to the IEMs. Your eardrums would be fried long before the IEMs would be.
I just caution using pink noise too much for breaking in IEMs, especially at loud volumes. FWIW, I put the IEMs in my ears as Iām turning up the volume, before I let them run for hours to break-in, just so I donāt turn it up too much.
The system will remove the quote if you quote the entire post (for some reason), unfortunately thatās something that can only be changed by the site owners
Thanks! I donāt use pink noise. I use a playlist that gives a workout for the DD with some slower/softer songs for a break.
I always run the amp in low gain for IEMs and turn the volume all the way down before I start playing music. I have my Fiio Q5s set up right now for my IEMs till I get to the bottom of all this.
Ha ha! Iāve noticed this and get around it by copying the reply and my post before I hit the āReplyā button. Sometimes it retains the quote, but when it drops it the moment the page reloads, I edit the post and paste everything in again and it always keeps the quote the second time.
Just get into the habit of copying everything in your reply before hitting the button. If it drops the reply, edit and paste.
FDX1 is still clearer sounding, but in my collection the FH3 is second place for sure. If EQ were brought into the equation the EX800st would prob. beat it, but as a stand alone the FH3 is a better all rounder, but it is not superior in how clean it sounds compared to the FDX1.
I was just thinking about this as someone else basically asked the same thing. My current favorite al-around single DD IEM is the NF Audio NA2. It has quite a lot of bass, and is a fun listen, but it still has amazing clarity and resolution, along with impressive instrument separation. Where it really excels is in detail retrieval, IMO. At first listen, it doesnāt sound at all fatiguing, and is smooth, so it seemed like it didnāt have great detail. The more I listened, however, I discovered that it reveals a lot of micro details that I have not heard with any other IEM. Compared to the FDX1, it has quite a lot more bass, so if you really want an extremely clean separation of bass and midrange, itās not as ideal as the FDX1. It is warmer and fuller sounding though. The timbre is amazing on the NA2, and the treble has enough sparkle, but is slightly less extended compared to the FDX1.
I remember reading, (it was you maybe?)ā¦ That itās very hard to take off the mmcx connection on the fiio fh3ā¦ Itās my first iem with mmcx so I donāt have an idea on how hard it. Is that you were talking aboutā¦ So I muster my strength and prepare to take it offā¦ And it was easy af with an audible and satisfying clickā¦ So yeah maybe you got a bad mmcx on ur first fh3
I assure you, you will regret nothingā¦ Me too bought the zsx 4 months ago and canāt stop reading about iems sinceā¦ I was blown away with what a zsx can doā¦ And now I got so curious on why these people with more experience and knowledge than me wonāt even touch the zsxā¦ Why is zsx not in the best iem in the world list? Lolā¦ So I guess I will have to find outā¦ I am at that time willing to spend 300usd blindly just to find outā¦ So I am reading about iems with this price tag, my eyes were set to fiio bec I discovered fiio is a good brand (thatās why I bought their btr5 earlier)ā¦ Fh5 or fa7 is my choiceā¦ Asking around reddit I was decided on the fh5ā¦ Luckily, 3 days of checking, itās still out of stock so I descovered the newly released fh3ā¦ Now Iām a happy camperā¦ And Bro itās really comfy too compared to the zsxā¦ I slept with an iem for the first time last nightā¦
It was me. The MMCX connectors were tight on my first FH3, but the realy problem arose when I tried applying the FiiO LC-RE MMCX connectors to the FH3. They were incredibly difficult to attach. One of the sides never even clicked in no matter how hard I tried. The other issue I had with the FiiO LC-RE and the FH3 was that one the MMCX connecters were attached, rotating them was almost impossible on the side that would not click in. Both were very tight, but Iāve never experienced anything lke this before.
With my second FH3, the connectors popped off and I was able to connect the FiiO LC cable easily. I returned the FiiO LC-RE. I loved that cable but it was so light, they wouldnāt stay behind my ears. I prefer the FiiO LC cables personally. They have more weight to them which I guess I prefer.
So I might have had a faulty FH3 or FiiO LC-RE cable. Shortly after the LC-RE, the FH3 became defective.
Ha ha! Iām new to the IEM chase as well since the Moondrop Starfield. I canāt stop buying new IEMs, and learning as much as I can like a sponge. Itās addicting and I love it. Itās a lot of fun chatting with everyone here about IEMs, headphones, dacs and amps. Itās a great community of people that all enjoy this hobby as well.
Iāve found that most people here arenāt here just because they want one headphone or IEM and then theyāre gone. Many of us enjoy all the different aspects of the technology behind audio in general and deep dive into discussions about it all. I think I just described an audiophile and didnāt need to write any of that.
wellā¦most people are probably happy with 10-20 iemsā¦meanwhile we have addicts like me with 50+ (soon 60 lol) iems! And if I count my earbuds, I am close to 70!!!
ā¦At least I cant spend all that money on games lol (I used to burn quite a lot of money buying skins and stuff in pc games )
Well, I have my second FH3 coming this week with the Fiio solid silver cable. Wondering if the solid silver will boost the higher frequencies of the FH3. Will be nice to have two with slightly different signatures. also ordered another Fiio FD1. After listening to HiFi Dreams review and description of its sound stage, Iāve decided to give it another shot (only 60 bucks). Iām a big fan of Fiio right now. They have shocked me with the quality of the FH3. Gotta collect them all!
